have you checked if its set to output only thru the intergrated graphics in the bios? there should be an option for it with the options "igd" (intergrated graphics) and "peg" (dedicated graphics) though sometimes thats labled differently
not yet, trying it now
its currently set to auto, not integrated only
^wont boot with this option
have you plugged your HDMI / DP cable into the graphics card or the mainboard?
yes...
so which one?
when the gpu is plugged in, i tried connecting my monitor from both, still no luck
i am worried i shorted the gpu somehow, i have nowhere to test the card on another system
Try different ports
you mentiuoned your fans are spinning. all of them (including the gpu)?
yes, the fans spin when it is plugged in, it just wont boot
i tried D:
newer cards require multiple power connectors. have you plugged in all of them?
it is a gtx 970, and yes i plugged them all in
you could try to temporarily set the preffered gpu to onboard, boot and install the drivers and then try again
what drivers do u mean?
*update: i enabled onboard graphics while gpu is connected and it'll boot up, but as soon as i switch the port from my mobo to my gpu, the display is gone
i am currently downloading the drivers for it, hope it'll work
YESS, it worked thanks for all the help guys
no problem
