#LOOKING FOR LAPTOP FOR SCHOOL
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I mean I have a old Acer nitro I resoldered a capacitor to it’s used but I’m pretty sure has a i7 and a 3050
Haven’t fixed it yet just didn’t feel like it tbh
god no
why
laptop for school shouldnt have a dgpu tbh. waste of money
or if you dont need a dgpu
https://www.ebay.com/itm/156309979695
which one is the 8645HS? i just learned awhile ago from an ltt video just how terrible AMD's notebook names are
zen4 based with extra ai stuff
ryzen 5
6 cores
this is zen3+ based, equivalent to the 7735U but "vpro" variant
i would get this one. a school laptop shouldn't have a dgpu (so you aren't tempted to game a bunch), unless its your only computer and you want to be able to game
680M is a competent igpu as well if you wanna play light games or emulate
i have it in my laptop, pretty damn good
true
is that on amazon
its refurbished
its ebay
on ebay
you get a two year warranty and ebay has good buyer protections
id just get the t14s and call it a day
they don't trust getting something from ebay
ebay has the best buyer protection of any used site that i know of
ive bought many things from ebay, and only one thing didnt arrive. ebay refunded fully when a monitor didnt ship
the seller has 98.7% positive feedback and has sold 130,000 items
the HP victus would do fine, but id rather have the extra cpu cores and ditch the dgpu. just my opinion though

or the other victus, and upgrade ram
"intel core 7 series 1" 💀
if you have a microcenter near you and this is in stock
https://www.microcenter.com/product/679374/hp-pavilion-plus-14-ey0095cl-14-laptop-computer-(refurbished)-natural-silver-aluminum
absolutely insane deal ^
3 hours away
would this be better though
if you dont have a microcenter yeah
@stone mason @toxic turret gonna have to find another
was about to buy it but it sold out
rip
elitebook seems nice
really nice actually
13.3 inches though is hella small
16 looks better
1tb storage too
might get that one
2.7ghz though
https://www.ebay.com/itm/364907427589
the pavilion but its over budget
swift edge is nice tho
5.1ghz doesnt matter
gpu doesn't seem that good
this is also a dogshit site
like
actually bad
intel bias, no real testing methodology
heres an excerpt from the 7800x3d review:
"Also watch out for AMD’s army of Neanderthal social media accounts on reddit, forums and youtube, they will be singing their own praises as usual. AMD continue to develop “Advanced Marketing” relationships with select youtubers with the obvious aim of compensating for second tier products with first tier marketing. PC gamers considering a 7000X3D CPU need to work on their critical thinking skills: Influencers are paid handsomely to promote overpriced niche products (X3D, EPYC, Threadripper etc.). "
the 780M as an igpu is the best out right now for windows
as a gpu rivaling like a 4090, obviously its going to be bad
oh really?
I was looking at individual users testings, they are all pretty bad
i have a 680M, can confirm its not bad at all lol
the igpu in the 155H kinda matches it but has arc woes
Bottleneck calculation for AMD Ryzen 7 7840U and AMD Radeon 740M for Hearts of Iron IV video game. Containing solutions how to resolve bottleneck.
also this is the 740M in the 7540U
the 7840U has the 780M
NOT the 740M
if you were expecting 4090 level performance out of an IGPU then im sorry but thats not happening for a while
Bottleneck calculation for AMD Ryzen 7 7840U and AMD Radeon 780M for General Tasks. Containing solutions how to resolve bottleneck.
calculation based on what
wheres the tests
you cant simply say "100% cpu util in game and no gpu util in game means bottleneck"
at lower resolutions you are going to be more cpu bound
NEVER use bottleneck calculators
if you want a decent gpu then get this
why
they're basically always wrong
is a good review
a little too much
id say swift edge then
The person who this was for got it and they can't even use it in the library it's so loud
sounds like an airplane
firstly don't use UBM
secondly, the 740m sucks
thirdly, igpu wise from amd you'd want is a 660m that's on a 7535hs/u, 680m that's on the 7735hs/u, 760m that's on the 7640hs/u and 7640hs/u and 8645hs or the 780m that's on the 7840hs/u & 8840hs/u and 8845hs
year late buddy
nope, only just saw this
Ive got the 780M and it's great
