Motherboard Lights are active when I turn the PSU on.
Pressing the Power button turn on all RGBs and Fans. The fans are not spinning at full speed.
I am not getting a Video Signal out however.
Also no diagnostic beeps or lights went off.

Yes - the HDMI cable was plugged into the graphics card.

Something I observed - I can’t turn off the PC using the Power button and the USB Ports on the motherboard or front IO don’t seem to work/power peripherals.

Stuff I’ve tried - I removed the GPU and plugged my HDMI cable into the motherboard.
I checked if all power cables are plugged in correctly. I also checked if my memory is all the way in. I tried multiple memory configurations with only one stick.
I successfully updated the bios of my motherboard using an usb stick.
I even checked the motherboard for bent pins on the cpu socket.

I also tried turning the PC on without any memory - same result lol

Like I said before no diagnostic LEDs at all - my motherboard has 4 LEDs to show errors of the CPU, DRAM, VGA or BOOT. None of them ever turned on.

See page 35 out of 86 or page 1-21 of the manual.

Is my CPU just DOA? I am thinking about getting a new CPU tomorrow to check (and new thermal paste).

Thanks for taking your time to read through all of this!

wraith dragon
#

did it work?

removing memory sticks didnt change anything either

#

the power on button doesnt work however when i removed the cpu

#

but still no diagnostic LEDs

wraith dragon
#

can you send a pic of the pc and a pic of the mobo socket

bold violet
#

i think it’s either the cpu or motherboard

#

but i cant really prove that

wraith dragon
#

can you send a pic of the pc trying to turn on and remember to have the cpu cooler on the cpu

bold violet
#

already made a video yesterday without the cooler screwed on

The ability to update your BIOS via flash tells me that at least the BIOS itself should be working. The CPU is likely dead but alive enough to allow the MB to turn on. This does not however rule out a faulty BIOS chip. [or a short on the board] The easiest thing you can do is get another CPU and try it. If it works, you can RMA/return the dead CPU. If the problem continues then the MB needs to be replaced.

I will try with a new CPU tomorrow

oh

bold violet
#

And its dead too

#

Should i try installing an older bios?

vast sigil
#

Wait for the CPU

bold violet
#

I should also mention that the PC doesn't turn on without a CPU

#

my friend insists that this is not normal

A "dead" CPU can still have good power pins

while we're at it

any thermal paste recommendations?

vast sigil

I was the proud owner of a fully dead CPU. Nothing worked.

yes

A CPU can "die" and several ways. It can even self downgrade by popping a core or LP

bold violet
#

heck

#

didn't know that

I'll see what I can get

Update - It really was the CPU!!!
