Looking at building a new PC. While my current build does well, I want to push the limits a bit. I’ll be buying some stuff new and some stuff used.

Looking for recommendations on parts. I’ll be doing a project zero build ideally.

Processors:
13700k
R7 7800x3d

Gpu:
I’ll be buying used for this.
3090
4070TI
4080

Other than that, 64gb ram, 1300w power supply, and I’ll be using my drives off my current PC (970 evo 2tb and 1tb)

I’d like to do a NZXT AIO as I like the look of the CPU temp readout.

Lianli RGB fans

Undecided on case.

Budget is around 1500

I primarily play extraction shooters - tarkov, DMZ, helldivers, grayzone, etc. I am currently on 1080p 165hz monitors but those will be sold, looking at a g9 oddessy monitor to share with my work computer.

Current PC is Ryzen 7 5800x, 6700xt, 64gb of ram, b550 mobo and 850w PSU in a NZXT h7 case.

7800x3d over 13700k for gaming

#

1300w is a bit overkill too btw

#

Idk how many used 4000 gen gpus youre gonna find either

The 3 gpu’s i mentioned are all available locally.

I did the calculator based on the 13700k. May be lower with a 7800x3d?

why not a 7900 XTX??

#

NEVER EVER USE A BOTTLENECK CALCULATOR they are almost always wrong.

#

and just no to any intel cpues right now as reported by a lot of media ALL intel 13-14th gen cpues are broken and dying

As long as you use the GPU intensive setting

brittle terrace
#

@strange basin they are significantly more than the used 3090/4070ti I am looking at (kinda ruled out the 4080)

#

Also what’s the best way to calculate then?

You dont

#

The 7800x3d is the best gaming cpu available rn (zen 5 x3d in a year)

#

Adding anything below a 4090 doesnt make it a “bottleneck” then

#

Just use the vibe check

So there is no calculator to figure out PSU?

There are many calculators to figure out psu requirements

#

I usually just put an 850 or 1000w psu in, depending on the specs

strange basin
#

1000W is only for a 4090 in my opinion with smn like a r9 7950X

#

for most a 850W is more then enough and i just feel dumb putting it in most builds as its way to high even for a midrange all new parts build

#

But you can’t really get much cheaper than an 850, which is why I throw it in anyway

strange basin
#

a 7900 XTX and a r7 7800X3D a 850W is a good combo

ye with a r9 7950X ofc a 1000W might be nice but it should scrape by with a 850W as its not intel

#

850 is fine for this build though
