i think this is integrated graphics

torn mesa
#

Yes, that's the iGPU.

#

What is the full model of the laptop?

molten loom
torn mesa
#

No, the full model number. Example: FA506IH

#

It will be on a sticker on the underside of the laptop

molten loom
#

FA506IC

torn mesa
#

@molten loom Win11?

molten loom
#

yeah

torn mesa
#

@molten loom Now follow the laptop instructions for DDU here: https://rtech.support/docs/factoids/ddu.html

Remove both drivers, when back in normal Windows, install the AMD driver first.

molten loom
#

im in the eu so i choose eu but just checking are these the download buttons

#

this looks weird

torn mesa
#

@molten loom Yes, that's correct. The regions is just where the server is, it doesn't really matter which ones you use

molten loom
#

But the site tutorial you sent

#

It says select clean and do not restart for the first driver

#

And then clean and restart for the second one

#

But it only lets me choose one right now

torn mesa
#

Picture

#

DDU should always let you choose any vendor, it doesn't check what you have connected

molten loom
#

Do I just click clean and do not restart

torn mesa
#

Yes

#

Then select the Nvidia GPU and do clean and restart

molten loom
#

Alright

#

It’s doing it right now so I’ll wait till it finishes

molten loom
#

Should I say no or say yes and reopen this

#

Sorry I’m just quite scared trying not to mess up my laptop

torn mesa
#

No

molten loom
#

Kk

#

@torn mesa ok so it restarted

#

What now t

#

How do I exit safe mode (I think that’s what I have to do next)

torn mesa
#

It should do that when restarting

molten loom
#

It’s still in safe mode I think

#

The wallpaper is still black and the corners say safe mode

torn mesa
#

Ok

#

Windows key + R, enter msconfig

#

In the General tab, set it to Normal Startup.

#

Then restart

molten loom
#

Alright

#

Ok now I just use the amd then the nvidia files

#

@torn mesa what now

#

also this issue came out of NOWHERE
i literally closed chrome and then restarted and suddenly my amd driver isnt working

#

did ti seriously not work 😭

#

oh hellll nahh

torn mesa
#

@molten loom Once you have reinstalled the drivers, there is nothing else to do

#

Still not working?

#

If no, right click on it in Device Manager and select Properties. Which error code?

molten loom
#

43

#

same one it always was

#

man this issue is really annoying

#

@torn mesa are you currently looking for a solution

#

because its quite late for me i may have to just hop off for today

torn mesa
#

@molten loom Error 43 is very often a faulty device. Is it still under warranty?

#

With DDU not working, it being faulty is the main suspect.

molten loom
#

I think I’ll have to get it repaired then

molten loom
#

@torn mesa i am so very dumbfounded

#

a bit after i woke up and got ready and everything i had some spare time to get on the laptop before i gotta go

#

its fixed???

#

if its from something you did im very thankful man!!

#

you have been a great help ily bro 🙏

molten loom
#

@torn mesa bad news.. its back

#

again

#

out of the blue

#

around the same time as last time

#

just after i restarted

#

my laptop is genuinely taking the piss

#

and when it was fixed earlier today a created a restore point and backed up everything

#

i restored to that point and it hasnt fixed

#

i ran whatever checks are on the restore point and it says nothing is different at all
