Im not sure if its normal, but untill yesterday my idle GPU temp was 60 C, and my pc was incredibly loud in most games i play. I did something i saw on youtube that was basically lowering my 165 hz to 160 and it made my clock speed not maxed out and fixed my temperature. But now i realized that as soon as i open a youtube video the gpu clock speed maxes out again and the temp starts going up? is this normal or is something wrong?

what are the max temps?

nocturne lion
#

on idle i belive the max temp before i have done the fix was 60 C, and when i did it its around 43 C, but when watching youtube it goes to like 55C ?

#

in games i dont believe the max temp went over 75C but i wasnt monitoring it too much. All i saw was that my pc sounded like a jet engine

nvidia gpu has a max of 83c before they slow down

nocturne lion
#

im using an AMD gpu

#

RX 6600

sudden cedar
#

90-100c is too hot.

#

do you know what variant of it

nocturne lion
sudden cedar
#

good

nocturne lion
#

im not sure what you mean by what variant, but if you mean how many fans then 3

sudden cedar
#

then the temps might be kind of high but at the same time a lot of 3 fan cards auto OC and it makes the temps go sky high but from what i can see the temps are ok but you might wanna change the fan profile in amd radeon to reduce the noise

i have amd adrenalin installed

#

not sure if its that edition

#

but i just installed the one that popped up when i searched it

sudden cedar
#

ye

#

and when your in it go to performance - tuning - manual tuning custom on the gpu

#

then change max fan speed or if you want more control you do advanced

nocturne lion
#

what should i set it to?

sudden cedar
#

run a game or a stresstest and reduce the fan speed until you like it

nocturne lion
#

hold on i dont see an option to change it

#

this is all that pops up when i open it

sudden cedar
#

yes you can change fan speed by draging down the dots

nocturne lion
#

ok and is there any like max temperature that i shouldnt let my gpu go over?

sudden cedar
#

tbh just drag the ball up top to 100c or 95c

#

then drag down the other ones like 10% fan speed

nocturne lion
#

so the 3rd one all the way to the right, the others to 10%

sudden cedar
#

ye

#

btw press fine tuning

nocturne lion
#

something like this?

sudden cedar
#

might wanna have p4 at 50%

nocturne lion
#

huh

#

like where it says fan speed 33 i just put 50?

sudden cedar
#

and do 100% on p5 at 90 or 95c

#

fan speed it to the left

#

top one is speed

#

the one under is temp

nocturne lion
#

this ?

#

im not sure

#

i havent hit apply

sudden cedar
#

ye it looks good

#

wait

#

p4 at 70c and 60% fan use might be good

#

and if you want it to be quieter or lower temps you knwo how to do it now.

nocturne lion
sudden cedar
#

ye looks good if you want it to be quieter then you can reduce fan speed if you want better cooling you can increase it

nocturne lion
#

okay, is there anything you recommend me to do to optimize my pc? its new and i havent done anything basically

sudden cedar
#

tbh its mostly only installing adrenalin

#

and thats it

#

and i hope you enjoy it

nocturne lion
#

and thanks alot

sudden cedar
nocturne lion
#

im only concerned about the GPU memory clock being at max when im watching youtube

#

im not sure if thats normal or not

sudden cedar
#

it dose not matter, most modern things just max out clocks when anything happens

nocturne lion
#

my cpu temp is around 34 on idle

sudden cedar
#

intel or amd

nocturne lion
#

i guess it averages 32

#

amd

#

ryzen 5 5500

sudden cedar
#

thats some nice temps for amd

#

well i hope you enjoy it a lot and win lots of games with it.

nocturne lion

oh yea i just booted up the game that was loud before

#

huge difference
