#Why so low download/upload?

if its closer to 60MB then you have confused MB and Mb as you ISP dose Mb while your pc usually dose MB and 8Mb from your ISP is the same as 1MB to your pc so 500Mb/8=62.5MB
but it might also be a cat 5 cable
thats steam downloading rn, and on my plan it says 500Mb/s download/upload. this would be about 62MB/s
yeah thats what i am sayin, do i need to upgrade every cable run from my patch panel to my pc cuz that alot of cable
what CAT is it?
its a CAT 5
ok
cuz i have that one that goes into the wall but idk how much the ones in the wall transfer, i dont really want to change those
it should be easy enough
to change every cable in the wall?
it sounds like alot of work
its like at least 20m cable to the panel in my house if not more
could i get a router, place it in my room and just hook it up to my pc with a high CAT cable or is that just money in the drain
tbh i would just upgrade the cables and get it done and if you go with CAT 6A you can get up to 10Gb so you would not have to worry about speeds for many many many years
so its not really time consuming to replace the ones in the wall
with the right equipment it should take less then a day
k and i can use a RJ45 with this cable or how do i get it in my pc?
ye RJ45 is the plug
yeah ok just making sure
if you do not have the equipment then it might be easier to just get a handy man to do it
nah i have the tools to like put the plugs and al of that
nice
i would go with CAT 6A as it can do 10Gb if you plan on upgrading but cat 5e is cheap and good enough for 1Gb
ok, i might just go for 5e then cuz i am 18 and prob gonna move out in just like 3 or something years so idk if its worth it but thats also why i was contiplating a router cuz i can just take it with me but looking at the cable prices its not that much as i thought it would be
3 years is still a good bit of time and being able to say that you have 10Gb internet in the walls will always be nice but cat 5e is also good enough
