so my first pc should cost 1000ish and i have no idea where to start this pc is for mainly gaming and also other things like schoolwork and stuff. also what kinda monitor would be nice too buy. i’d like at least 240 herts at really good price.

you should opt for 1440p 120 or 144 hz, as they give the best value and personally there's a tonne of a difference between a 1440 and a 1080p monitor, so get the 1440p instead

You could theoretically get away with 1300, if you really wanted to.

mine is overkill is overkill awell, but i still woudlnt recommend some random guy to get something overkill, i have a 12600k and a 280mm aio
