Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 7900
GPU: AS Rock Radeon 6600x
Motherboard: PRO B650M-P
Ram: DDR5 32gb
SSD: 2tb m2 NVMe
Case: Montech Air 903 MAX
Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin

Questions:

  1. My case fans have not turned on once. I don't know why. They were pre-wired into a fan hub built into the case. I connected the 4-pin female cable coming from the fan hub to the SYS_FAN 4-pin connector on my motherboard. I have put the PC under stress tests and they have still not turned on at all (nor the RGB). I have not put the side panels back on after finishing the build if this affects anything.

  2. My GPU fans only run sometimes. Is this normal? They don't even run while watching a youtube video.

  3. BIOS: when running the bios, the Expo profile button is grayed out and I can't click on it.

  4. Drivers: I installed windows using a DVD and it seems fine. Is the process with installing drivers the same with a disk as it would be with a flash drive? I don't really know how to install drivers. All I have done is download the drivers on this page:
    https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-B650M-P/support#driver

dont use the disk that comes with mobo there allways old

  1. The the only cable leaving the fan hub was a 3 pin (the same size of a 4-pin but with one space skipped) female connector that I connected to the only 3 pin connector on my mobo (top right). I don't know what fan hub it is; it just came preinstalled in the case. I'll send an image of it.
  2. I don't know exactly what ram it is. I can send a picture of the packaging it came in.
  3. Not sure what you mean about the drivers
dim inlet
#

the drivers you need is chipset/audio/lan/sata maybe +gpu driver for the rx6600

dim inlet
dreamy jetty
#

where is the gpu driver download?
does this work?

dim inlet
#

so you need to give it power form offen a sata power connecter

dreamy jetty
# dim inlet

I have one of the left one and 4 of the right one

#

not plugged into anything atm

dim inlet
#

well psu will have cable on right that plugs in

#

sata power

dreamy jetty
#

my psu isnt modular

dim inlet
dreamy jetty
#

the cables just come from the big bundle of cords

dim inlet
#

if not its very bad one

#

since sata is user on most things

dreamy jetty
#

including both of the ones from the image

dim inlet
#

is there one of those on fan hub

dreamy jetty
dim inlet
#

where this one go

dreamy jetty
#

to this

#

as simple as connecting to this to one of the sata power connectors?

dim inlet
#

mail/femail connceter

#

psu will have maiting connceter

dreamy jetty
#

before doing so I should turn off the pc and then the psu tho, right?

dim inlet
dreamy jetty
#

Ok all 4 fans are going

dim inlet
#

what else

dreamy jetty
#

now drivers. How exactly do I install them. I extracted the LAN one for example and read the included FAQ document

#

I got this

dreamy jetty
#

don't I need to update them within the device manager?

dim inlet
#

windose allways gets old drivers

dreamy jetty
#

rn they are just .zip files (except for the LAN one I extracted)

dim inlet
dreamy jetty
#

yes

#

do I just run this?

dim inlet
#

yep

dreamy jetty
#

will the gpu driver I asked about earlier be the same process

dreamy jetty
#

what exactly will change with my pc that I'll notice. The only problems I've really noticed is the PC seems notably slower than it should be and a couple of things I've downloaded have seemed unusually slow while downloading (maybe thats just the MS store being the MS store)

#

I assume I don't have access to LAN at the moment

#

also, I assume I need to keep these driver files somewhere once I've installed them

dreamy jetty
#

like it downloaded 10mbs in 30m

#

then I went back later on and got the whole thing to download (1.1gb) in like 10m

dim inlet
dreamy jetty
#

but it took a few tries

dreamy jetty
dim inlet
#

wifi sucks

dreamy jetty
#

it's ethernet

#

I ran a speedtest and got around 140mbps

dim inlet
#

ok your intetnet suck or server downloading from sucks

dreamy jetty
#

ive had similar issues with the MS store before so maybe it's just that

#

my question mainly is: will these drivers affect internet speed (I'm guessing not)

dreamy jetty
#

do I just install all of these?

dim inlet
#

all

dreamy jetty
#

while im waiting for this stuff to install, maybe you can help me figure out the BIOS issue? Maybe I need to update the BIOS, idk? I can send an image if needed of the grayed out EXPO Profile button and the entire BIOS Screen

dreamy jetty
#

In my original post

#

The expo button is grayed out

dim inlet
#

what ram

#

?

dreamy jetty
#

I can send an image of the back of it too if needed

dim inlet
#

its 5600cl46 right

dreamy jetty
dim inlet
#

well look right

#

check with cpu-z

#

spd tab/mem tab

dreamy jetty
#

cpu-z?

#

according to pcpartpicker it's 5600cl46

dim inlet
dim inlet
dreamy jetty
dreamy jetty
#

fair

#

for sound, I'll need to use speakers/headphones, right

dim inlet
#

it will be running at 5200 42-42-42-84 i think

dreamy jetty
#

I downloaded the SATA driver thing and it brought up the same chipset thing I already downloaded

dreamy jetty
#

is SATA just one of those options

dim inlet
#

are you using sata

#

if no its fine to skip

dreamy jetty
#

just to the fanhub

dim inlet
dreamy jetty
#

not for a drive

#

fair

dim inlet
#

not the sata chip that dose data

dreamy jetty
#

is there a way to enter the BIOS without restarting and mashing delete?

#

I tried it and it didnt open bios

dim inlet
#

yes hold shift and hit restart

#

advance

#

uefi

dreamy jetty
#

didnt work

#

do I hold shift prior to hitting restart and keep it held the whole way thru?

dim inlet
dreamy jetty
#

The monitor just comes back on as a black screen

#

Like the restart button just doesnt work or smth

dim inlet
dreamy jetty
#

To set up anything else in the Bios I can, and probably overclock

dim inlet
#

ok

#

but first set up windose

dreamy jetty
#

I skipped the bios before so I haven’t done anything there

dreamy jetty
dim inlet
dreamy jetty
#

Where is that

dim inlet
#

and get hwinfo64

#

and occt if your going to oc

dreamy jetty
#

I have hwinfo

#

I’ll get occt; where is cpu-z? A downloadable program or something on my pc already or something else?

dreamy jetty
#

anything I should do with cpu-z?

dim inlet
#

check spd tab/mem tab

dreamy jetty
#

all I got is a .txt

dim inlet
dreamy jetty
dim inlet
#

one that ends with 64

dreamy jetty
#

oh, a program that doesn't automatically open when it's installed

dreamy jetty
dim inlet
dreamy jetty
#

uhhhh

#

where, what even is specteck

dim inlet
#

did the ram have heatsyncs

dreamy jetty
#

idk

dim inlet
#

any way pc set up

#

mosty rest is random thing like download all thing and just check thing like temps/things are in order

dreamy jetty
#

The ram

dim inlet
dreamy jetty
dim inlet
#

well mistory ram that sold by brand i have not seen befor

dreamy jetty
#

Uhhh interesting

#

Will it be fine?

#

unrelated but, this cord came with the mobo and I never figured out where to use it

heavy ravine
#

That is sata data cable for ssd, hdd, odd devices etc
