Someone can feel free to correct me but I think Male? - molex from PSU tends to be female.

wait shit might be vice versa here, if the connector from the fan is male(it has 4 pins) your adapter needs to go to a a female(4 holes.) so the male can plug in

The molex cable of the fan is both male and female

those are actually the same kind of fan pins you have on the motherboard, I would assume this is some kind of adapter where you can plug in like multiuple fans and then get the power delivery over the molex

Watching some random troubleshooting videos i think the molex cable of the adapter has to be female
Cause the molex cable from the psu used in the videos is female
