#Timespy Extreme Test Failed (Noticing white flickering across screen when using pc)

Ive been having issues with my pc lately. Ill notice when switching through tabs sometimes a weird white flash will pop up, its never the same size and its jagged on the edges? I cant really explain it well without someone seeing it but I made sure to try all my video cables and it still happens, also happens on any of my monitors regardless. Either way I also feel like i dont get the FPS a 3080 and 12700k should get in the games i run, Im unable to get more than 100 in overwatch at ultra quality. Although that is like a fair fps cap and maybe at ultra it is what 3080s are supposed to get, the main problem is that the fps will drop significantly when I enter a battle with lots of effects going on. Same with fortnite, dropping out of the bus will make my fps severealy drop and engaging with any enemy will be impossible. Only after playing the game for a bit, maybe like an hour will it run fine, not sure if its a fortnite thing or my pc thing since my friend says it also happens to him but not as sever are my situation.

I ran 3DMark Timespy Extreme and it says my PC failed the test and Im noticing some weird drops in the 12700k cpu frequency but Im not smart enough to tell if thats a contributor to the issue or not.

I should mention that a couple weeks before my 3080 would have these red flashing lights on the power signaling my gpu wasnt receiving enough power, and back then I was really in the performance dump failing just the normal Timespy test by a large percentage (think i got like 70%?). I ended up reseating my gpu and riser cable from cablemod and all my psu connections and that didnt fix it, but what ended up "fixing" it was manually changing my pcie in bios to gen 4, but it seems that not all my problems were solved by that. Please let me know if you need any extra info or need me to elaborate (dont think i did too good a job at explaining my problems) to figure out whats wrong and I will try my best to get it to you. I attached my pcpp.

what should i do to get a good test?

mint charm
#

i had a video let me find it

glass idol
#

is it on the 8 pin

mint charm
#

glass idol
#

if so all that dose is light up if it thinks nothing pluged in

mint charm
#

I assume those are cable mod cables not the ones which came with your psu if so try connecting psu cables in

mint charm
#

asiahorse so even worse probably

#

but the leds are no longer my problem

#

let me try without the riser and see

mint charm

yeah i gotta move a lot of stuff around so illget to in a minute

#

im updated my drivers and reset cmos one more time and im testing with extensions now

#

will take them out when im done

#

wow i got 90%

#

new low

#

what the hell is going on 😭

#

removing my extensions

mint charm
#

i passed it but barely

#

im going to run it again to make sure it wasnt a chance thing

glass idol
mint charm
#

well something definitely changed when removing either the extensions or the riser

#

i get above average time spy benchmark scores when before i used to get 16k

#

now i get 18600

#

so now im readding everything to determine the culprit

#

my game also performed noticeably better

# mint charm

did you check pcie link speed or can it be hittin ecc dose pcie gen4 have ecc i cant remeber

mint charm
#

i reset cmos

#

pcie speed is on auto now

#

i had it on gen 4 with the riser

#

and thats what solved my red led blinking problem

#

i havent tested it with it set to specifically gen 4

#

the benchmark i just ran though lost score with the CPU extensions installed but gpu stock psu cables

#

so im thinking theres prob something wrong with the cpu cables only, it would explain those weird dips in the stability test

mint charm
#

also theres prob something wrong with the riser cause im using it again and i went back to 16k
