I currently have a system with a 13900K and a Gainward RTX 4090 (3.5 Slot card).
I'm thinking of getting a second GPU for improved rendering times.
With my current motherboard (Z790 PG Lightning) the 2nd PCIE slot is blocked by the GPU.

I'm wondering if anyone has a** suggestion for a motherboard** that could fit a second RTX 4090 (The second 4090 will probably be a FE). I want to maintain good thermals so I guess more spacing between the slots is better?

Note: I am also aware of the performance loss of using the 4090 in a chipset PCIE slot but I'm fine with it. If there is an alternative (I don't think its possible) let me know also!

why dont you get a 3 or less in and place that in top slotunless your not looking for a 4090 level gpu

I guess the FE on top and my current GPU on the bottom could work but that leaves only like 2mm gap between the two GPUs so little worried about thermals

and some of them dont cost more then other ones but

#

like 3 from the top when filter from cheapest

#

but if your wanting more cost affective its gets more tricky at times since do you get board with lots of pcie slots and like 2 more gpu that are more cost affective or just keep current board and get a 4090

since 4070 super get more render for price last i check

new board would cost around $300-$500

you check pricing where you are and be carefull with boards lots of board that have many 16x slots only one of them are offen x16 and rest are x1 or x4 or some have one that works in x4 if you dont use other ones

what your rendering btw
