Part List - Intel Core i5-14600KF, GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, NZXT H5 Flow ATX Mid Tower
(GPU isn't on Parts Picker fsr so I picked the OC version)
whats your budget if you dont mind me asking
Not really sure
Was looking to spend around 1200 but that number grew and grew
Case fans and ARGB controller and whatnot
Trying to 100% keep it below 1500
below 1500 alright, any particular brand like nvidia amd intel or even better question what would you be planning to do on this system
Nvidia/Intel, mostly gaming
Just making sure, you're aware I've made a parts list and stuff right
yup ive been looking
its the reason i asked what your budget would be since i seen the total in pcpp was 825 as some stuff didnt have a price tag shown
1300 on Amazon
Not including the CPU cooler I got that on eBay
The 4060 Ti is where I'm worried
Even finding one used
I'm not sure of any Nvidia alternatives that offer good Vram and overall performance
ik you said nvidia/intel but for a 4060ti alternative you could get an amd gpu maybe rx 7700xt/7800xt (12-16gb vram) and if its an oc model then slightly higher clocks and a bit cheaper than nvidia which i feel throws people off from getting amd but price to performance shows only downside is if you plan to do rendering or heavy editing then it wont show in that aspect
I had a 7600 and it was an awful experience
Looking for out-of-the-box fun I don't have the time for troubleshooting
i heard about the 7600 it was in one of my lists but has been changed to a 7800xt, theres always last gen amd gpus such as 6750 or 6800 (xt models) which should be cheaper depending on the company that made it or a last gen nvidia gpu such as 3070ti or 3080 (ti or non ti) < 30 series i would try go for used since there still a bit on the pricey side new only downfall is the vram for those
or stick with the 4060 you had and say fuck the people who act like children with that gpu
It gets lots of flak for some reason
I'd easily go with a 3060 Ti if it had a 16GB option
got 12gb pretty close
GPU or CPU?
Cuz AMD CPUs are great
Ohh
You already have are on AM4
@polar jungle what GPU?
No what do you have rn
Nothing
Refunded the 7600 and 5600 and am in the process of selling everything else
Why 5600
It's a amazing cpu
There is no need to sell it
I have no use for it
I don't see why I should keep it when I could get a full refund
??
You should reuse it with a new GPU
You can get a 4070 super with it
Just wanted to start from scratch again
Knew almost nothing about computer parts and decided to learn instead of having someone else make a parts list for me
Well you really should not refund it
It's a great CPU
Reuse it
@polar jungle what other stuff do you have?
Like. Case or PSU?
Only parts I have that aren't being reused are a meh Thermaltake case, an MSI PSU that's too underpowered for this next build, a B550M-K mobo, and some case fans
When 7600 launched the drivers were shit I believe you on that but CPUs don't have drivers
Idk what to tell you man it's been gone for a few weeks
Well
You still have the motherboard? @polar jungle
Rip
Msi mag 650watt?
550 watt
Oh
That's not great
Mean it's ok ok
But I get that u won't like to reuse it
@polar jungle 1300$ - 1500$ right?
1500 max
K
@polar jungle you should go AM5 with a Ryzen 7000 CPU
Or do you really want intel?
Would it save me a ton of money?
Yes cuz u won't need to change the motherboard when you want to upgrade
With intel you would need to buy a new motherboard when you want to upgrade
this is the build i would use at 1500 budget https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6cYbPF
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 6700 XT, NZXT H9 Flow ATX Mid Tower
WTF
7800X3D with a 6700 XT
To be honest I don't see myself upgrading at all over the next 5-8 years
What are you smoking
And at that point it would just be a new build
I see
thats fine
bro im using a 2060S with a r9 5900x rn
@polar jungle for gaming AMD is a bit cheaper and more stable
Intel is great for video editing and CAD
Ok for gaming
no tf
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7800 XT, NZXT H9 Flow ATX Mid Tower
this then?
Then you are not well informed
11% bottleneck is not a lot
This is how you use a bottleneck calculator
man this is stupid
back in my day you just needed a good cpu and gpu
no bottleneck shit
There was bottleneck we just did not know

@polar jungle
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, NZXT H5 Flow ATX Mid Tower
👀
This is with AMD
Bro
I DID
👀 👀 👀
Woahhh wait dude I like that
Would that 7600 actually be a good match for a 4070 Super?
Much cheaper than that i5 and that 4070 is plenty more powerful than the 4060 Ti
Yes
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9CzCRK for intel @polar jungle
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600KF, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, NZXT H5 Flow ATX Mid Tower
As long as going with AMD doesn't mean software issues
I think everything I was running into with my last build was GPU related
Naah
CPUs don't have drivers
Intel have software issues
Cuz they have P cores and E cores
AMD just P cores
I might consider that Ryzen 5 7600 then
I look into that
I'll need to find a mobo with wifi
No
For like a 4080 super yes
Not a 4070 super
a gpu that would bottleneck a 7800x3d would be somewhere in the rtx 12000 range or rx 15000 range still got a while to go before they make an appearance
i dont even think the 5090 would bottleneck the thing
The 7600 is what I mean
Would a 4070 Super bottleneck that?
stop using bottleneck calculators. theyre all fake
the fact that it shows the exact same bottleneck for 1080 and 1440p proves it
oh wait, i was looking at the wrong one
nah zen 4 chips dont realyy have a bottleneck maybe a 4090 paired with 7600 but not a 4070
Everyone uses them
Whoever uses bottleneck calculators is dumb
They're the most immaculate pieces of shit over
Absolutely not
best bottleneck calculator is games
That’s just a benchmark, how you should always gauge performance — real world tests
i meant like actually play the games with afterburner open w/ OSD turned on and look at the percentages on both cpu n gpu that should give them a good idea on what kind of bottleneck if any is taking place
Yes
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, NZXT H5 Flow ATX Mid Tower
@haughty lodge does that look good?
get lowere timing on the ram, for ryzen cl30 your current ram is cl38
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, NZXT H5 Flow ATX Mid Tower
tbf would rather have 6400 cl32 than cl38 6000 it is better and within the bios you can change the speed so im not gonna complain, not as if i would in the first place was just looking out
Why the 7600 rather than the 7600X?
its like a 5% performance difference and you get to save a little
5% for $10 seems like a fair deal
up to you
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Deepcool CK560 ATX Mid Tower
2% difference and power drew is much higher
UD90 has QLC nand for the 2TB model
so should I replace it?
