#Was going to get a 7800X3D, but looking for something cheaper. Anything better than this?

Is there a benchmark that shows the 7600 outperforming the 12600K? I was under the impression the 12600K was superior.
It's for work purposes, not for gaming.
According to passmark, they’re identical
https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/4603vs5172/Intel-i5-12600K-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5-7600
The Intel is stronger in that benchmark, and it's cheaper....why would I buy a 7600?
What do you mean? I care about performance to price ratio, I'm not just going to "do whatever"
If it was for gaming, I would "do whatever" lol, this is for work
Price to performance actually matters.
Right. It does. But, consider other contingencies like platform life time
The lga1700 platform is dead, and will not receive new cpus meaning an upgrade means new ram and new mothernoard
Where as am5 will last till 2027 or so
So just swap cpu
Also consider power usage and how efficient they are
12600k is a 150w cpu ( yes can be tuned ) but 7600 is 60w and can be cooled by pretty much anything
Alongside this, intels monolithic die has been proven to be less stable as of late.
I mean it's fine but hynix a dies are 97 sooo
Overpriced for the poor timings it offers
It’s barely worse
I would get the 7600 for the upgrade path
Defo
Andwattage
Amds rival 150w chip smokes the shit outta that
Albeit price
Which is that?
Well it's 120 but 7800x3d and it rarely runs at that. So 7950x ig
?
NO
Why not
