4k plex stream

Recently I started encountering errors trying to play back 4k content on my plex server. Error message usually says something along the affects of the server not being powerful or capable enough after it stops streaming. This seems to be random in between 10-30 minutes or Tom sometimes and hour plus.

Plex server is running on windows 11 off my old rig:

B350 am4 (msi tomohawk iirc)
3700x cpu
6700xt gpu
16gb ram
850 psu

I tried asking on plex discord server and I got the same answer with no explanation: amd bad, build Intel.

Really not trying to build a whole new system for plex and any guidance would be appreciated

They probably say that bc of qsv on intel igpus. If you use a dgpu for transcoding, nvidia is the best afaik, but the 6700xt should still be ok for that

Yeah really not trying to buy new hardware if possible, this was basically to reuse my old hardware

Not sure why it's having issues with 4k playback tbh

Plex amd transcoding is still in its infancy igpu on intel GPU or buying a a310 or a380 will be better

Yes av1 and Plex on them things are fantastic better than most other cards out there

My suggestion would be sell the 6700xt and get the arc cards for Plex build that way not a whole new build and get some extra pennies after
