Hey buddy, how does she behave when you run with one sole stick of your new ram? Good to start with RAM and the process of elimination. I've been hindered by similar issues by upgrading my RAM recently, but also upgraded to windows 11 in one fell swoop, so uncertain of my issues. Start there, and if the issue persists with one stick, move the stick to another dimm slot and test again. I'm assuming that you are not using xmp if your RAM is set to auto and pulling 4800mhz vs advertised 6400mhz (?)

On win11, xmp has been nothing but trouble with my intel pc.

Go to C:\Windows\Minidump and check if you have any minidump files. If you do, go back to the Windows folder and copy the Minidump folder itself to the Downloads folder (You can use the desktop if you don't have OneDrive syncing files). Zip the copied folder and attach it to a post. Please follow the instructions to the letter as Windows doesn't like you messing with files in this location.

steel cypress
#

It just restarted with no bsod, then got to ctrl alt del screen. Then bsod ; SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

#

now what?

north lion
#

@steel cypress Upload the files here

steel cypress
#

im willing to fully reset this thing if need be idc about anything on here btw

steel cypress
north lion
#

@steel cypress A mix of memory and BattlEye. So probably both. I see anticheats causing crashes all the time. For the memory, I see that you haven't updated to the BIOS that fixes the 13900K/14900K "bug" so I would do that first.

steel cypress
#

Walk me thru it

north lion
#

Install version HC1 (beta) and use the Intel Default Settings option

steel cypress
#

I have to hard restart pc is froze rn

steel cypress
north lion
steel cypress
#

I'll send pics as I go

north lion
#

Put the "E7D91IMS.HC1" file onto a USB flash drive.

steel cypress
#

Top one?

north lion
#

Yes

steel cypress
north lion
#

Once you download the zip, extract it. It's inside the folder you get when extracting

steel cypress
#

Ok

#

Ok now what

north lion
#

Boot to the BIOS

steel cypress
#

Alright

north lion
#

@steel cypress The BIOS might not see the USB if it's not FAT32, but we can do that if it doesn't work

#

In the bottom left corner ish you should see "M-Flash"

#

Select that

#

It then boots into the flash environment

#

Select the USB, select the "E7D91IMS.HC1" file.

steel cypress
#

Alright, should I ever try to oc my ram to it's intended state again or just leave it alone after this

north lion
steel cypress
#

Botting rn btw

#

Booting*

north lion
#

Yep

steel cypress
#

Bios is updating

#

My mb is rated for up to 7200 and ram is only 6400 so I can try after this is fixed, I enable xmp and set ram to 2x6400 right?

north lion
steel cypress
#

I'm fin with 5600

#

Anything above 4800

north lion
#

Not sure how much BIOSes have improved this, not sure if 6400 is fine now.

steel cypress
#

I'll just leave it be tbh, too much of a hassle after all this

#

Cuz the bsods were way more frequent before I turned it off

north lion
#

@steel cypress Ok, now to make sure the new profile stuck, go to CPU → CPU Cooler Tuning

#

It should have "Intel Default Settings" at the top

steel cypress
#

It just finished and restarted

north lion
#

It should be on by default (I think Intel demanded this), but you never know what board vendors do

steel cypress
#

Go back to bios?

north lion
#

Yes

steel cypress
#

What do I do?

north lion
#

Top one

steel cypress
#

I have a water cooler tho

north lion
#

It's not really related to the cooler, I have no idea why they placed it in that section

steel cypress
#

Ok

#

Ok now what

north lion
#

You see on the Water Cooler section, they basically remove all power limits. 4000W on the CPU so basically infinite power.

#

This has caused stability issues

north lion
steel cypress
#

Alright

north lion
#

Then uninstall BattlEye

#

If you have any games that don't need it, use those for testing.

#

If you don't, or really want to play game with BE, reinstall it after

steel cypress
#

Alright what about cpu boost and ram and all that? It's good to go without needing to touch anything?

north lion
steel cypress
#

Ok

north lion
#

CPU boost, if you mean Turbo, should be on.

steel cypress
#

It just turns red

north lion
#

Oh, leave that off

steel cypress
#

Ok

#

Exiting bios

north lion
#

It's probably Multicore Enhancement which clocks all the cores to the same speed. Intel usually handles turbo by going faster if few cores are in use.

steel cypress
#

Alright

north lion
#

Usually a pretty small change, but just want to limit variables

steel cypress
#

Alright how do I make sure battleye is 100% gone? Walk me thru it

north lion
#

If they renamed it, Windows key + R, enter appwiz.cpl

steel cypress
#

I don't see battleeye

north lion
#

Hmm

#

If you search for BattlEye (one E) in Windows, does an uninstaller show up?

steel cypress
north lion
#

Right click on BattlEye and select Open File Location

#

It probably shows a shortcut, do the same to the shortcut

#

Is there an "Uninstall_BattlEye" file in there?

steel cypress
#

I can't right click anything that's just a web search

north lion
steel cypress
#

I'm right clicking it isn't doing anything

north lion
#

Ugh, damn Win11

#

search for "apps and features", maybe the default apps manager has it

#

If not we nuke it with Revo Uninstaller

steel cypress
north lion
#

See if Revo finds it

steel cypress
#

Ok how

#

I'm on website

#

Oh it auto sintalled

north lion
#

Downloaded, not installed

steel cypress
north lion
#

Right click, extract

steel cypress
#

Done

north lion
#

Then open the folder, run Revo exe

steel cypress
north lion
#

RevoUPort.exe

steel cypress
north lion
#

Have you reinstalled the OS or something in the last four days?

steel cypress
#

no it was like 3 or 4 weeks ago

north lion
#

Do you know which of your games uses BattlEye?

steel cypress
#

i do not

#

im willing to reset the pc too if that would help. I have fast internet so redownloading isnt a problem

north lion
#

Let's check one thing first

steel cypress
#

ok

north lion
#

Win11's Task Manager is so ugly, I'm not sure where to find it so I might have to need your screenshots

steel cypress
#

ok

north lion
#

Open Task Manager, do you see anything called Services?

#

I think most if not all is just icons now

steel cypress
north lion
#

It looks like this on Win10, try the bottom option:

north lion
steel cypress
#

uh where

north lion
#

@steel cypress That second screenshot

steel cypress
#

yea i see but which one

north lion
#

BEService in the list. Right click on that and select Properties

#

Screenshot

#

It's actually stopped so it might only be running while the game is running which is a positive

steel cypress
#

im so confused i dont see BEService

north lion
#

Man, I looked at my own screenshot :(

steel cypress
#

lol

north lion
#

Was that the whole list or does it scroll?

steel cypress
#

ill send the whole if i can i have a long moniter

#

they keep moving too

north lion
#

I don't know why it's "layered", maybe new on Windows 10.

#

Windows key + R, enter services.msc

#

Does that also have the arrow to expand the service hosts?

#

That arrow >

steel cypress
#

i dont see an arrow after typing services.msc

north lion
#

No, the the list

#

Great, this has it all layed out

#

That has BattlEye in the list

#

Finally, jesus christ this thing is hiding

steel cypress
#

\this?

north lion
#

Yes

steel cypress
#

ok what now

north lion
#

Right click and select Properties

#

Screenshot

steel cypress
#

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye\BEService.exe

north lion
#

Yes, go there

#

Hopefully there is an uninstaller there

#

You can use Windows key + R, C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye\

#

Or at least give hints to which games

steel cypress
north lion
#

D2

steel cypress
#

destiny 2

north lion
#

Ah

steel cypress
#

or division 2

#

i dont have division isntalled tho

#

and i play d2 alot

north lion
#

Destiny uses BE

steel cypress
#

ok

#

now what

north lion
#

Either play something else and see if you still crash or go into the Destiny game folder and see if you find an uninstaller for BattlEye.

#

Launching the game usually prompts a reinstall

steel cypress
#

no crash yet

#

what if it bsods in like a day or week

north lion
#

Tag me here (@north lion) and include the new dump file(s).

steel cypress
#

ok

north lion
#

If it feels stable, test XMP

#

Not sure how often you crashed

steel cypress
#

alright thanks, when i had xmp enabled at 6400 like twice a day, then after i disabled and put to auto, like twice a week

#

2 yesterday 3 today

north lion
#

It was on 4800 now though. Maybe we should double check that

#

Task Manager again, the Performance tab and click on Memory

steel cypress
north lion
#

4800

#

So let's use that for the testing

steel cypress
#

my mem is Memory: 64 GB @

G-Skill - 32 GB DDR5-6400, CL32
G-Skill - 32 GB DDR5-6400, CL32

north lion
#

I know, the dump files include full system specs

steel cypress
#

so what did we do to stop bsods exactly? update bios?

north lion
steel cypress
#

when i exited bios it said no changes have been made

#

should we double check bios?

north lion
#

You can if you want to, but it's supposed to be on that as default now.

steel cypress
#

id like to check

#

lemme get to bios

north lion
#

Go for it

steel cypress
#

before i do what about this

north lion
#

I have never seen that before

steel cypress
#

msi center for fan control

north lion
#

Yeah, I have never used or seen that before

steel cypress
#

ok ill leave it be

#

should i delete the mini dump on desktop and the exe we downloaded?

#

I'm back in bios what now?@north lion

#

@north lion

north lion
#

@steel cypress I'm not sure where it is

steel cypress
#

oof

north lion
#

I think it's back in EZ mode and you click on CPU on the left

steel cypress
#

so far no bsod

#

ill check it later

north lion
#

It also has this

steel cypress
#

Yes it is on default

#

Honestly think that fixed it but we will see in the coming days

#

I'll @north lion you if it does

sand star
#

Hope you two made out well! I meant to check earlier but have been in the middle of moving. Great work @north lion 🙂

steel cypress
#

@north lion need you again smart man
