#Inflated laptop touchpad

Ive noticed that its been like this for a few months and that its harder to actually click using it
Bulged battery
Don't use that laptop anymore, the battery is bulging. Turn it off, take the battery out, and put the battery outside away from the building, preferably in a metal bucket
Be careful when removing the battery
Remove the storage drive as well. You can plug it into something else to extract the data
how do i take the battery out
and i cant just put it in a metal bucket outside
as i live in apartments
can i still put in a new battery though
im trying to take off the backpanel thingy but its tight as fuck
Know what, just get the whole laptop somewhere that it's not gonna damage much if the battery does burst until you can get it to a place that can replace the battery
@undone cypress
what iff i can get it out
Then good, take it somewhere that can dispose of it
Please be careful
ok
Don't use anything sharp
uhm ok
I say that because if you puncture the battery, it will explode fast
well iff the laptop would let me open the backpanel i could do it
If you can't get the panel off, don't force it
ok
some of them are dirty i think
this small screwdriver doesnt really help either its the size of my pinky
is there anything else
potential basically unquenchable lithium fire
well thats nice
i can touch it right
i do
Search the model number on HPs support site. They usually publish service manuals with disassembly instructions.
i did 90% of the screws but the last one wont budge
im gonna continue tommorow
iff i dont get it lose tommorow ill just take it somewhere this weekend or next week
its in a different building rn
good luck
Btw could the swollen battery have explained bad performance?
Think so
then thats why its been getting slower and slower overtime
im currently not using it and planning to have it checked out next week
K
its been a bit and i havent done it yet
but i did manage to open the backplate using a video
just cant get the screws loose from the battery cause they are tight as fuck
and only have this screwdriver thats the size of my pinky that fits in the hole
I decided while im gonna replace the battery ill also just upgrade its ram at the same time
nice
if you need to
you can probably just idk drill the battery off
idk
you can use a knife to like cut it off
don't do this if you need the surrounding area to actually work
jk
don't do that
it will absolutely destroy the mobo
Leave. This is something that can burn bro's apartment complex down.
Bloated lithium batteries aren't something you want to be using a knife literal centimeters from
