Use the automatic repair, that's why you're there.
Meanwhile, post your pc details.
Already tried that
Intel i5-7500 to AMD 5 5600X
16GB DDR4 to 32GB DDR4
1050 Ti same
Storage same
What else do I say? It goes to automatic repair and won't repair
I remember there were options, no?
That would've been my next suggestion, ok.
Couple of questions. Is there anything on the system drive you need, and do you have another pc around?
Well I would want to keep everything on my pc and no I don't
Because I'm thinking screw that old installation, if it doesn't have personal data. Make yourself a new install usb and go with that.
If you had another pc available, you could still grab that old boot drive out of the PC, install it to another one, say if you have friends of family, copy everything you need. Then reinstall on the drive and wipe it clean in the process.
That puts you in a difficult spot, if you don't have a pc that works, nor a pc to fix it with.
The solution is: find a pc that works.
Everything starts from there, like reading about options or making new installation media.
I guess you're on your phone right now?
Does it throw up any errors, or just 'no sir, no windows for you'
Yup just no windows for you
Yeah
I think I've found a way
Open CMD
Open notepad
Open the "Open" in notepad then I can mess with the files and get what I want saved
open in notepad, "save as" on another usb is going to take you until september or something though
Unless it's a very small number of files
besides, doesn't the cmd have xcopy
In the open when it opens the file explorer, you can move files around
I guess that works, but having a second pc would be a lot quicker.
