Trying to get a pretty integral PC back up for my work, just killed itself randomly. I didn’t see it happen so idk what went wrong. Boss said it “was the PSU” and has me putting in a new one. I’m pretty sure my connections are all right but I’m getting no power.
#are all my connections right?

Nothing happens when you press the power button?
Nothing
what is that gpu setup
I can hear the “click/buzz” when it gets plugged in. So there is power just won’t turn on still
it looks very broken - on an angle
It’s a 1060. It’s on a long ass ribbon cable for some reason. It’s just sitting there rn. Not putting the thing back together till it works.
Whole computer is different from anything I’ve really seen before. Lots of unnecessary cables and bridges for cosmetic/space saving stuff
if its a business machine it might only have a 2x2 header for CPU if its old/slow enough
there's nothing wrong with that, the psu cpu cable just looks really weird
For example my PSU is wired through the entire PC to the back and has a middleman cable to connect to the PSU from the front
common in sff (small form factor) builds
What did you mean pigtail?
Not business, all my work uses are lowend gaming PCs for some reason
nothing wrong with it, from experience most business machines are that but with shitty non standard mobos and other parts
every gaming pc can be used as an office pc
have you already tried clearing CMOS and all that. I know it is power related but anything can happen
CMOS?
how the bios remembers settings you change and how the motherboard keeps time
thats probably not the problem. can you take a picture of the end of plug?
This it?
other end
Photos are taking awhile to send but yeah
And it’s got a wider cable to the side
Looks like
Yeah
No clue. First time I’ve seen this pc was this morning
It’s got HDD and a 1060. That’s all I can get visually
looks like intel cooler mounting, try plugging into the motherboard and unplugging the gpu
Gpus unplugged
from the pcie slot
Yes
We get blackouts all the time, I’m not even sure the things just not entirely shorted.
Will try
get a ups then lol
Nothing
I don’t know why they don’t have one. Literally every other one does. This is arguably the most important in the building….
smh
and you can get a decent 400va one for like $40
what is this even used for (if you can say)?
It runs pretty much all the advertising in the building. The food menus, movie times, pretty much everything a customer needs to look at.
Also our file storage….so like our records are gone till this comes back online
Rip
why isnt it like an intel 6-7th gen mini pc. less power, less space, less points of failure
Cause company dumb. Idk.
Fair enough. I’m guessing it’s shorting out
Rip. I’ll tell bossman we need a new PC. Thanks though
