I’m building my first pc and I bought an MSI MAG A650GL power supply. I got the 24 pin connector out and hooked it up to my motherboard, but I’m not sure where to hook the other part of the cord up to on the power supply itself. The cord is split into two connectors, and one of them fits on the bottom hole on the power supply, and neither of them fit on the top. If I only connect one on the bottom, the second one will just be hanging off to the side, is that okay? Please get back asap. Thx!
#Weird power supply connection to motherboard. First build. What do I do?

Looking at those pinouts and the labeling on your power supply it really does appear that both connectors should match up and fit with their corresponding atx 24p ports.
This is your port layout correct?
You’re right, I’m just a little confused as to why there’s the extra eight unused pins on the top.
And yea it is
It's an extra CPU & PCI-E port. You have 5 even though the markings showing that are a little weird.
That’s interesting. Thanks!
Seems to be laid out like this. Happy to help.
