#Advice and optimization of parts for a new budget PC
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
the intel build has a pretty expensive mobo. i assume wifi? you can get a cheaper mobo with a dongle and save a couple bucks.
only a singular 2 tb ssd? get a 500-1tb ssd and a extra hdd, you can probably get 2x the storage for the same price.
not really worth advising on that until we know what actual country they're from
looked into their linked twitch. they‘re from colombia.
theres barely any difference between the 5600GT and 5600G, get whats cheaper.
the 12400 out performs either of those
Where GPU?
Part List - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6650 XT, Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L MicroATX Mini Tower
at the price it's an igpu build which makes the 12100f a dumb buy
he said he will get a gpu later
you could also in theory get a cheaper case if there are budget issues
just in case
Part List - Intel Core i5-12400, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
with a better mobo, better ssd,and cheaper case
Thank you for your inputs. I'll address some of the questions:
- @stuck merlin As pointed out by others, I'm from Colombia.
- @pale pecan Yes, the TUF Mobo has WiFi and is one of the very few decent DDR4 mobos left in the stores here. As for cases, not much brand selection (no Antec, no Montech, no DeepCool etc.) and the 205M Mesh is one of the cheapest I can buy here at $70. Most of the Amazon options add import taxes.
- @small pine I can't afford a GPU right now because the used market is flooded with "I know what I have" folks selling you a 1030 for the price of a 2080Ti. I'm close to landing a new job and a GPU would be the first thing to add to the build.
Ahhh I see
Your build has some parts that I can get here that I didn't realize. Thank you.
Same for this. I'm gonna try to mix them
if you can get the mobo i suggested in the build i done you'd have a mobo that performs above it's level tbh
I actually can haha. And like $55-60 cheaper than the TUF. That was a great suggestion
it can handle up to a 12900/13900/14900 and still have the vrm's run cool
I just verified with the store and it's the DDR5 version... 😦
But it's way cheaper on Amazon so I might be able to upgrade to a 12600K
ddr5 one would befine but it would mean the ram may be dearer tbh
Yep, I think it's better to rather go DDR4 and upgrade the CPU.
So far is looking like this: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kv9zL9
I know it says almost USD$660 but for some reason it fits my budget after exchange rate.
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600K, Lian Li LANCOOL 205M MESH MicroATX Mini Tower
change the ssd, seriously, it's shit
Any specific brand you would recommend?
Sure
What's the budget and reason tell me once again
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600K, Lian Li LANCOOL 205M MESH MicroATX Mini Tower
This silicon power ud90 is good TLC
good for up to 1tb tbh, it becomes questionable over that, 2tb and higher especially the 4tb one is qlc nand
Yep
Not available to me unfortunately.
Hmm look for teamgroup mp44l
Or solidigm p41
wd sn570/580, lexar nm620/nm710/nm790, teamgroup mp34/44/44l
No that's true but p41 plus is cheap tlc anyways
qlc nand for that not tlc
Would a WD Blue SN580 be a good choice?
solid choice tbh
@stuck merlin Is it too bad if I change the 12600K + PA 120SE for a 12400 with the stock cooler to make some savings or is the trade in performance not worth it?
Trade in perf worth it
nope, still worth it
What about having the 12400 + PA 120SE? I'm trying to find the best mix.
No the 12600 has to stay
12600 vs 12400 is big jump
12400 is. Slightly boosted 12100 or i3 and 12600 Is aslightly shunted 12700k or i7 if that makes sense
Also of buying 12400 stock cooler is enough
But I'd stay 12600 for a pc that will last a bit, and not be rendered e-waste
not really, considering 12600k is where it starts to have e-cores on the cpu, and for budget sake, a 12400 is perfectly fine
Well I think it'd be a considerable jump, cuz 12600k does fit
In budget
He's just finding places to save rn
from the sounds of it, this will be a gaming rig, in which case, the 12400 trade blows with a 5600
the cpu performance of a 5600g/5600gt is no better than an r5 3600
if i was going for a new build using an igpu, it would be a ddr5 am5 setup using an 8600g/8700g
they're directly comparable to laptop cpu's
8600g = 7640hs with it's 760m
and the 8700g = 7840hs with the 780m
On another note, xtx is now 800
900 but has 100$$ coupon
noice
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 8600G, BGears b-Masstige MicroATX Mini Tower
the igpu on this is equal to a gtx1050/1630
probably going to be way more in columbia in comparison
but this would be a basic if going for as new as possible igpu build
Should go for 8700
It'd 780m
That's a 2060 and trades blows with
it does not trade blows with a 2060
the 780m is equal to a 1650/1060(3gb)
while currently the best igpu, halo strix will be an even greater improvement on that
with it's rumoured 40cu igpu
no where near a 2060 in performance dude
i reccomend this with the purpous of being able to upgrade to a dedicated gpu later and already being on am5
thing is, their location could prevent them from getting this
is columbia a hard place to get gpus?
doubt it, but also, it's kess than likelt to get most newest stuff with ease without paying through the roof for it for them
Okay I see
What would the practicality’s of buying a us gpu and paying to have it shipped?
It would probably be $100+ in shipping but it might be worth it compared to the columbian market
Yes. I only see the horrendous 4060s or the absolute no no 3050s and up. In the used market, "I know what I have" people with 1650s at $250
That and import taxes.
XFX RX6650 new for like $225 is the most affordable option (not counting the RX850 lol.
I'm gonna try to see if I can get these parts. I'd definitely have to change case, RAM and SSD
that's a thing anywhere that second hand stuff exists lmao
Oh I see that sucks
Oh yeah I didn’t think of the import taxes
