Keyboard broken

my friends laptop keyboard works for 2 seconds then shuts off, windows is up to date, keyboard drivers are up to date, I don't know how to help him anymore it's an Hp envy x360 2 in 1 laptop 15-ey0xxx

So after it shuts off, you mean like you can’t type anything? Then how do you get it working again. Cause I have an hp envy laptop as well and it has a feature where the keyboard lights up. So he might just be talking about that.
