#PSU is rapidly ticking

I'm not sure if it is something to be concerned about or not. Pretty sure my last PSU used to make a weird noise sometimes, might just be the fan, maybe it's grazing something or pushing air past some piece of plastic inside of it or around it. Not really sure. PSUs are dangerous, I am not suggesting that you open it.
I wasn’t thinking of opening it, thinking of diagnosing by plugging it into a friend’s PC. I just wanted to know if anyone could identify based on sound alone.
Gotcha! My pc used to make a ticking noise but if I kinda tilted it a bit it would someitmes stop. Idk if it was PSU related but I remember thinking it was for a time. You could try powering the PSU right side up in the case, then flip it and see if it still makes the sound or kinda angle the case a bit just to see if maybe the fan is running into something.
Hmm, that does sound like something to try. I’ll go for it, and give an update.
Update: Fan increased speed, now the PSU is rattling. Looks like a fan issue, unfortunately.
