I got a laptop with 4gb ram with 1600mhz and I know there are some 2gb sticks here that probably have around 1300mhz, is it worth it to upgrade to 6gb of ram with this difference or will this make my computer worse?

well running out of ram is worse then slow ram

1 more ram GB helps lots if your running out but if you a not running out of ram it dose not help
2 always try to populate all channels of ram note if board has 4 slots most of the time it only has 2 channal and can run faster ram if only 2 a used
3 ram perfomce is conpicated like lower timings faster higher mhz faster more ranks faster but cant get as high mhz then there config rg x4 x8 x16, x16 is slower
