The motherboards surround sound support is via 4 separate 3.5mm audio jacks

How is that 7.1 surround

river perch
#

#

from the msi website

I see stereo (also called line put, the green one) , microphone in, and line in (which does either rear speakers or a sub from what I can see)

#

Anyway, you can’t just plug a usb dongle into those. The signal is completely different

#

no the headset has a 3.5mm jack that plugs into the dongle

#

Oh

#

Can you take a picture

#

You probably won’t get surround sound (unless there’s a “windows sonic for headphones” option in sound settings, then maybe)

To get the microphone capability of that headset through the rear io, you’ll need a dual 3 pole to 4 pole adapter

#

i only need the surround i use an external mic

ionic stirrup
#

Oh ok

#

Then you can just plug it into the geeen plug and you should be good

river perch
#

it comes up as 7.1 but only the stereo chanels play anything

ionic stirrup
#

It comes up as 7.1 where

river perch
ionic stirrup
#

Probably because it’s not using the dongle

#

And I don’t think there’s anything you can do about it

river perch
#

do you know weather i could use just a regular DAC instead of the logitech one which will cost me like $30

ionic stirrup
#

i do not, sorry

river perch
#

ok well thank you very mutch for your time
