#Best 240mm AIO?

Looking for a 240 mm AIO that works well with a 5900X. Currently using a 280mm where the pump is making unsettling noises so I'm planning to replace it, but while doing it I wanted an AIO that fits in the top or my case as my 280mm AIO is currently mounted in the front. My case does support 280mm, but my motherboard is to high for a 280mm AIO to fit in the top. 😅

Any suggestions? Currently looking at the Ryujin II 240 mm as there is a good deal on it at the moment, but I'm open to anything similar. (RGB and such is a plus, but not a must as long as it looks alright)

My mobo is a Asus ROG B550 and I'm using a Cooler Master Masterbox MB530P for reference.

aio just stuck in my opinson they have finnite life span vs air cooler where only part that can fail is fan and they dove have a temp advanatge most of the time some of them a good but most of them are not

#

this is cheaper then the price i can find for the one you where looking at

Massive waste of money just get a TR phantom spirit

#

You can get 360 aios as well for like $70 from thermal right

Here’s a very reputable air cooler that would work fine

#

And here’s a good AIO that would work fine

#

They both also come in rgb if I’m not mistaken

vital axle
#

Alright, I'll have a look 🙂

#

Been a while since I built anything, so AIOs feels like a bit of a jungle to look through and find whats best

Idk the price where you live, but here the LF III 240 is around 65€

#

but if you end up being fine with the AIO being mounted to the front of the case, the 280mm variant would make so much more sense. Costs a little more, but the performance should be closer to a 360mm one

€65 shouldn't be a problem, current Be Quiet AIO cost way more than that.

Tha main reason I was thinking of going top mounted was for better air flow and partly because I always get told that the water flow is better if its top mounted, right now I have the case fans blowing onto the AIO, and the AIO fans mounted on the inside pulling the air into the case. And unfortunately the way the CM case is built, unless the water pipes is very flexible the outlets as to be at the top when mounted in the front

oblique bone
#

Ah, the pipes being on the top part of the case sounds a bit problematic

#

Generally, you'd want a front mounted AIO be mounted like this

vital axle
#

Not my PC, but the hole in the front is really tight as you can see

Don't need aio

For noise atleast

Having tubes at the top might have an acoustic disadvantage because of the water spraying out of the radiator inlet and through some air

oblique bone
#

this is the optimal way to have a front mounted aio

#

having it like this can cause the pump to eventually die early

I was under the impression you were talking about the ROG one

The ryujin II

Budget?

vital axle

@pine slate I would say $150 or so, since I was considering the Ryujin II 240mm when asking the question

vital axle
# delicate lark Expensive mfer

It is, but right now its on a special offer for $113 on the site I usually order from, but no idea if it can cope well with the 5900X

unkempt schooner

still more expensive than thermalright

vital axle
#

It is, so looking into Thermalright a bit more. 🙂 Unfortunately(?) where I usually order from only have Thermalright air coolers, so if I want an AIO I would have buy it off Amazon

#

Anyone tried the Scythe Mugen 5 with 5900X?

#

now that I'm looking at air coolers as well

#

Or the Mugen 6 even

I like the Alphacool Eisbaer more though

#

Refillable and stuff

vital axle
#

Another brand I've never heard of, this is a learning experience 😄

south escarp
#

the eisbaer is good due to being able to customise it due to using standard g1/4 fittings, the arctic lf3 is basically the best for price to performance for aio's, though i'd ignore jjtb7's suggestion of the nh-d15 for the price it is you'd be better off getting an aio instead as it would be more thermally efficient over it, and if you went air cooler the thermalright peerless assassin 120/120se/ phantom spirit 120/120se would be better than going noctua

#

you can also swap out the pump/block/reservoir for a block and pump/res combo

#

alphacool being the only one to offer modularity in that sense

#

not even ekwb with the aio's they've released offers anything similar in that regards

and i didnt overpay

thermalright, deepcool or arctic for both aio/air cooler tbh, thy've had more solid products that are better than noctua

Arctic LF3>

turbid tapir

If you’re defo spending big money on an AIO which isn’t useful at all. Then Arctic lf3, EKWB nucleus, Deepcool ls/lt720 (loud pumps tho), and several other very high quality aios. Spending money on Corsair nzxt or asus aios is dumb and they don’t cool as well.

doesn't cost that much

turbid tapir

Oh yea as far as price goes for sure but seems like he just wants to spend some money lol

oblique bone
#

The 240mm one is around 65€ here

#

280mm like 70€

#

which is the one you should go for if your case can fit it

#

240mm should not exist besides smaller builds
