#Arasaka Specter Rig

Specs?
Probably ryzen 8000
Doesn’t need it
Its actually a really old rig i repurposed. Running a Asus ROG Z270i and a 6700K 😆 . Looking to pair it with a gpu at some point but might consider upgrading to AM5 for test bench purposes.
breathtaking
Thanks 😄
Thanks, building something small like this has always been so satisfying to me. I haven't built a full size rig in years.
"doesnt need it", every cpu with an igpu doesnt need a gpu, but if you want good graphics any cpu will need a gpu
Have you seen performance numbers for ryzen 8000? They beet like a 1060 I think
Yea its good for igpu but like not that Good to replace a dedicated gpu
If your playing 1080 medium settings you can get like 120fps so yes it can replace a dedicated if that’s all you want
Depends on the game. Sure it can run fortnite, but Nothing more intense
This guy
All iGPUs are gpus they are built into the CPUs
They are equally as capable
But with low performance
But with AMD’s 8000 series CPUs the iGPUs are really fantastic
The 8700g is abt inbetween a 6500 xt and a 6600
And yeah they beat a 1060
“More intense” depends on resolution and settings
incredible what AMD igpu's can do these days, it really has come a long way.
FSR and RSR will downscale the resolution and fill the empty pixels with AI to improve performance
So it can run any game but specific games like Starfield and hogwarts legacy are ofc going to have trouble
But nothing resolution scaling can’t fix
oh i also love to play helldivers on 360p with low settings
Did you read all that I said?
I didn’t say actually lower resolution
I said downscaling tech like FSR and RSR and along with DLSS
It won’t look like 360p
never said that tho
i wont argue with you again.
Updated the rig with some new QD fittings. My Alphacool ones have failed unfortunately and are not repairable. Might reach out to Alphacool to see if they can do anything but highly doubt it.
Much better
Agreed, much cleaner too.
Nice, but why put the QDs on the socket side? They can in fact leak some fluid and are not the most elegant to look at - put them on the rad side would be my suggest.
It did cross my mind but having used these for about 5-6 years now the drip is well almost non existent. I may trial it on the other end but i quite like how it looks as is.
Holy fucking shit this looks insane, i love the black/cyan color scheme
:( hopefully I can build something like this someday
I'll be updating this as i go along, there's still a few things to do yet 😄
You will, just persevere 😄
This is one of the best things I've seen all day
Thanks haha
Mayhems came through with an experimental coolant to trial. Waiting on a new radiator to arrive before i fill the loop and begin trials.
who put you in the void
What do you mean lol
Your pictures have no background like you are in the void
oh lol
Nah it's just my black background that i shoot from.
and abit of editing in lightroom
nothing crazy
Very impressive but a tad impractical
Its actually not too bad to carry around. There's a handle at the top just behind the motherboard so you can easily move it around if you need to .
It was mainly created to test GPU's but makes maintenance a little easier with Quick Disconnects.
Oh okay that’s what I meant by impractical you spent the money on water cooling instead of gpu but that makes sense
I have a few gpu's on the way to test, more to make sure they actually work than anything else lol.
Practical in a perfect world where accidents never happen and dust doesn't exist (if you aren't a pet owner)
lol yeah
No pets and surprisingly little dust. I run another open rig like this as my main and it collects less dust than my enclosed system.
what i would do for the CAD files to the chassis 🤤
Yeah I know, but I want to machine one
Ah
Final update for the Arasaka Build
lol thanks
😄
very cool build tho, everyones dream
I do love this compact build, its one of my favourites so far that i've done.
is that "case" diy?
the case itself is actually Streacoms BC1 Mini
I've just adapted it for radiator and reservoir placement
thats cool
PcPP?
Pc Part Picker, its a pc building site
people post their builds there, i'm certain yours is build of the week material lol
ah okay yeah i know that one, don't go on it often though.
might give this a go tomorrow lol.
you should, she's a beauty
Thank you 😄
I have another project nearing completion, will be showcasing that soonish as its a sponsored build.
oooh be sure to @ me when its done
Will do 🙂
❤️
Btw, if you want to follow my work you can find it on my website
Wait are you the same person I asked for the cad drawings for that one where you fabes your own distro plate?
🤔 you did?
Yeah it’s near the end of the thread https://discord.com/channels/375436620578684930/1168351816140984422
ahhh okay yeah i completely forgot to check 🤣 my bad man. I think i have the STEP files for this somewhere still. Will need to find them.
awesome thanks by the way how did you learn to do that?
I didn't make the CAD files but i did do the Technical drawings for them. If you can make a technical drawing, a CAD designer can bring it to life.
These were my initial drawings, you just need measurements and angles for the designer to work from.
I know a bit of cad and since it’s a pretty simple shape I could probably make it
Let me have a look for the STEP files tonight on my main rig, i'll dm you.
Ok sounds good
The Bench build got an upgrade.
MSI MPG B760i EDGE WIFI DDR4, paired with a 12600KF and Corsair's LPX 32gb 4000mhz memory kit. Additionally my RTX 4060 Low profile gpu has arrived.
Yo love the 3D printed mobo holder
Neat right? It's actually for keyboards but works just as good for motherboards lol.
Looks great! What CPU block is that?
Is that the Bitspower CPU Block Summit M Pro ?
I think it’s from XSPC.
Its the XSPC Raystorm Neo
There is more to come! I'm working on other projects too.
