#PC Part Picker List, Anything I should change?

You could probably get a 7900xt instead what’s the budget?
Don’t get amd gpu please
Why not?
I have a 7800xt and have no issues
Plus if he’s going am5 he can use smart access memory and boost his performance
You also might want to check the quality of that psu
B tier
Its chill
Oops wrong @ lmfao
Piss off*
Ok thanks I was very confused
Swap it with a 4090
Please learn about stuff before commenting on it
Fym lol
4090
How is that gonna fit in budget
Pc costs less than a 4090
But yes, swap out the 6900xt for a 7900xtx
Same price, ~20% more perf iirc and 8gb more vram
Unless the 6900xt is used
And isn’t $900
You know literally nothing
And gpus have no issues and have more features for cheaper than most nvidia gpus
And they won’t burn your house down 🙂
Nvidia GPU’s have always been better
I have at least 7-8 friends who had problems with amd gpu
Fanboy detected
Ok what were the issues and what cards where they
Tbf the drivers sucked a few years ago
😭
💀
ong
No u
What does that mean I’m just wondering
On God is a phrase which is a way of saying that someone is telling the truth. Similar to another phrase such as "I swear to God." Other common uses are "On my mom," "On my grandma," "On my grandpa," "On gang," etc...

Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 GRE, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
If you’re at 1440p or 4k you may want to get a 7500f instead and spend more on the gpu
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
Yeah it is better. You should swap your 4090 for it!!!!
Everything except the case is great
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Fractal Design Pop Air RGB ATX Mid Tower
I did save some on the mobo
Fx900 isn't necc bc xg7000 back in stock
Rest is fine
Than a 7900 XTX? No.
People who have problems on AMD cards forgot to uninstall the NVIDIA drivers.
Which is stupid. Like how the fuck do you forget to uninstall the NVIDIA drivers after buying an AMD card?
Sometimes when you uninstall the nvidia drivers they don’t really get uninstalled
You have to use DDU
Like I don’t understand how windows is so dogshit in this regard
On linux you can have literally all the gpu drivers installed and there are no issues
In fact amd and intel gpus literally use the same driver
Other than enabling proton, Linux gaming is pretty much and out-of-box experience
Windows you gotta install drivers and shi
Yep
Unless nvidia
Then suffering
NVK is actually merged into mesa now
W
Yeah, NVIDIA there's some extra steps
So 1 driver for any gpu vendor then
How well does NVK work in comparison to the other drivers?
1/5-1/4 the performance rn
It is faster in some games
Compared to proprietary driver
And I'm gonna assume pretty much everything is faster than Nouveau lol?
yeah 💀
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/anit24/saved/8mmNyc rate my list
To chime in on the hate for amd gpus, I've always had trouble with them. I tried updating to amd for the first time ever when I did my current build. Went with the 6800xt, kept getting crashes in games. Exchanged it for another 6800xt, still, same issues. Tried driver only as well as full. Started thinking it was my psu or something else. Still, same issues after contacting seasonic and running their tests. Ended up upgrading to a 7900xt, same issues, then finally 7900xtx.
Swapped it for my old 1080ti, never had any issues. Ended up getting a great deal from a friend for a 4080, and haven't had issues since. Been almost a year now.
but did you use ddu?
Oh god yes
Let me guess no DDU
I did everything. From under volting to providing more power, editing registery files for alot of the known issues, using ddu several times.
I think you are straight lieing
That is a bit odd
Want to see my Amazon purchase history to prove it lol
Sure
you are over exaggerating the problem I feel
I don't think you are lying, but I think that based on what people say, it's gotta be luck. You were on Windows11/linux instead of Windows 10, right?
There are problems with
No matter the game, it would crash at least once every hour.
Psu?
make your own thread
I made for Op
also that list is private
Its an a rated seasonic model off the psu list
Forget the exact one, buts it's a 1000 watt
It was windows 11, even went back down to windows 10 for a fresh install. I spent forever trying to get it to work over almost 3 months.
I loved the software, ease of oc'ing, fan curves, setting custome profiles. Loved it. Just didn't work for me.
I'd imagine Windows 10 is too old for modern GPUs
Duno, I was at my wits end with trying things out.
You capped your FPS?
Mmmhmm
Even did weird stuff like setting my ram to default value off xmp
Even did the MPO fix, if you are familiar with that
This is where is got stranger though. Disabling MPO, allowed me to run driver only more stable then the full install
Like, I would have a driver crash maybe once a day, rather then ever hour or two
was your motherboard slot a PCIe 4.0+ and not a 3.0?
This was on a new build, z790 board
So yes
I love discussing this issue with people as it befuddled the shit out of me. But I still stand by amd, and I enjoyed the performance, just their drivers suck
Would you say the Mesa drivers (Linux) are better than the Adrenalin drivers (Windows)?
Coz it sounds it sounds like you've tried everything possible on the Windows side
Did you try reinstalling windows?
Did not try Linux only
Ohhhh yes lol, even did repairs too
Forget the commands for it, but yes did all of that
Well, I have a Ryzen 7600X and a 7800 XT coming, if I remember, I'll tell you how it goes coz I'll be running Linux on my new PC for sure
Almost my exact specs
I just have the non x variant of the 7600x
I would guess Linux being so barebones will have a better chance. I also admit, I'm sure my issues are isolated. I just don't know what else I could have done. Because soon as I ran ddu, swapped in a nvidia gpu, have had zero issues.
Probably just unlucky nothing you could have done
It just didn’t like your pc
Though was cpu intel or amd?
Intel, 13600k
That’s probably why amd gpus don’t like intel cpus
That's another thing I tend to notice. Going amd cpu / gpu together tend to yield better results with software
They work but not well
Yup, I was able to score a 4080 for 700$, so it all worked out in the endm
Of course. From the people I've spoken with, Intel CPU + AMD GPU is indeed possible, but AMD for both generally works better 👍
Maybe it will be the same with intel gpus
I'm honestly impressed with Intel gpus and how they are holding up
We needed another contender in the ring
they need to fix their shit on linux though
you remember how at launch the performance was pretty bad and they quickly fixed it in the next couple weeks?
A friend of mine runs Ubuntu and says the same
They are probably figuring Linux users only make up like 10% of the market, so it's at the back of the list
Linux gets put to the side to often for drivers and support
They should focus on it more since there actually are people who use it
Like a major amount
10% isn't small in my mind, but to a multibillion dollar company, probably not unfortunately
I thought Linux users only made up 4-5% of the market? (Of course I use both Windows and Linux)
I wish I could use Windows 11 on my laptop, but I'm pretty much stuck with 10, because older NVIDIA cards don't have good Wayland support and Windows 11 doesn't work well with dual-core CPUs iirc
rn it's about 4.03%
nah they just lazy af
they've had a new kernel driver in the works for a year now lol
im sure at least part of the 6.1% of 'unknown' is Linux. Some of it anyway
My hardware is actually kindof ideal Windows 10 hardware imo, 2 TB SATA SSD, 16 GB DDR3 dual-channel, i7 4500U, and GT 750M 2 GB
I'm 2 years sober
look closer at my profile pic
I might eventually, not in a good position to factory reset or install a new OS rn
Lol
NO WAY
I don’t get it
it's the arch linux logo at 10% transparency 💀
lol yea
Bro wtf
LOL WHAT
That's cursed lmfao
*Yes"
Fuck off
Uneducated freak
AMD Drivers were arguably better than Nvidias a few weeks ago
Before geforce app released
Now they're equal
Nvidia app you say?
You haven't provided any way that AMD is shit
Brother it’s called sarcasm
Hello ??
Don’t take everything literal
I don’t give a shit if he buys a amd or nvidia
I literally typed that a 2080 ti is better
Pleaseeee get a life
So then why the hell are you so mad in this message??
Hmm
Because mystic is cursing at me
I got cursed at 3 times
Because I said nvidia is better
Like please get a life guys
Buy an amd idgaf
really
Sometimes
I mean, I think nvidia is better spec vs spec, but it isn't always about that.
I think 470 S TI is better than 7900 XT
I never liked amd amd gpu cpu
What do you mean by this? I'm living aren't I?
But I also listed a slew of issues I had, so I am being more biased. If my amd gpu worked fine I would be a fan boy for them. But I also own stock in amd, so .... there's that
I think the problem may have been the Intel CPU
No
Where did they say that though?
Gpu
I'm thinking too, and it could have been the configuration, with my psu, with certain other drivers .... who knows man. But after like 200+ hours trouble shooting I caved and went back to nvidia.
I’m getting a amd cpu too
But getting 4090 next to it
Why would I get a 7900 XT
It’s worse
Performance wise, no, 7900xtx or xt does not compete with 4090. But when you factor cost etc, it becomes a different story entirelly
Mesa drivers are 1000% better than Adrenaline I'll tell y'all how it goes on Linux
I thought that the 7900 XT competes with the 4080 and the XTX competes with the 4080 ti
No, 7900xtx is a bit better then a 4080
I'd say like a 4080ti yeah, sure
I think it's like 10% better then a 4080 im some titles, and in others it's worse. Especially if you factor in ray tracing or work related stuff
But again .... $1k vs 1.3, and a 4090 about 2k
If you have an amd cpu then tend to do better also.
But amd drivers are poo, and their cpus have alot of issues with memory timings. Just depends on how much research you do, and what fits your budget.
Alright, I'll just have to wait and see how the Mesa drivers perform
Just curious, in comparison to what?
Back the fuck off?
Why should I back the fuck off?
Because you're spastic?
because you know you're wrong and can't handle the truth from literally everyone 😂
Nah I ain't backing the fuck off go ride Nvidias little sausage sum more
No one is saying that 😂😂
You're just delusional
Because I'm not a 12 yr old Nvidia d rider like you
It isn't
Amd drivers aren't poo 😂😂 they were better than Nvidias just a few weeks ago
It's because Nvidia fan boys can't uninstall their Nvidia drivers properly with ddu
Causing amd to crash etc
Memory timings?
Not really they're not bad
amd without tweaks can take 6000-6400mhz quite easily, then if you can tune the cpu and do some shit with the memory controller, you can get higher
Stop hating on AMD because it's better
💩??
Brother
4090 is better. That’s all I said
Yeah it is. For nearly 2x price
If not getting 4090, 7900xtx is the next best card. Actually beside 4090 nvid is kinda useless unless productivity.
Read @burnt pulsar's message history
In rasterization, the 7900xtx is at worst 80% of the performance of the 4090 for at or almost at half the price
What a heated discussion 😂
AMD’s price to performance is unmatched by nvidia. unless you want nvidias tensor core features (rt or any of their ai stuff) or have a $5000 budget for the most expensive pc, AMD will be the better choice
And no, the 2080ti has never and will never come close to the 7900xtx
More like 2.5k
You can get a 4090 setup for 2.5k easily
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GC8hJy. A bit over lol
And the psu might be bomb
Can do 2.5k with microcenter bundle
LOL
MID motherborad
MID Ram
MID SSD
Nice cooler but cools ugly
And ofc the psu that might be bomb
AND still not 2.5k
you are funny
Good SSD actually, but mid ram and bad mobo
Yeah
Well ram is goos
It's cl30363676
Mobo is mid
Psu idk
I know of similar RAM for like $3-5 less
let me see on ssd teir list
No
It's what I'm using in my PC
Actually one of the best ssds
Crazy fast
And a steal price
Beats the sabrent rocket 4 pro
And so many other 150+$ drives
....?
Only thing wrong with this list
Is mobo, borderline too
And psu
A couple days ago the msi 4090 was 1599
So it was possible a couple days ago
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Phanteks XT PRO ATX Mid Tower
Kinda fixed it
RAM is more rn but usually it's less
still not 2.5k
2.5k we'd have to settle for all kinda mid parts
for 4090 pc you need to budget for 3k is all im saying
A620M good chipset?
No 😭
Nah not really
bro 💀
conclusion, for 4090 pc you need to budget for 3k.
I have the B650M + WiFi version of that mobo
yeah
FAILED
It's close enough. Specislly bc he said 5k
How?
Could**
The msi 4090 was 1600 flat
Was
Now cheapest 4090 is 1820
The 1600 left 900$ for rest
Part List - Intel Core i3-12100F, GeForce RTX 4090, GameMax Edge ATX Mid Tower
It’s at least $3000 if you want decent other components
Bro what
EPIC LIST
That would be bottlenecked even at 4K
470$ for cpu mobo and ram
Ik
oops caps
imagin tho
we need to get linus to do this kind of stuff
cheapest new pc WITH 4090
900
470 on ram cpu mobo
50$ phanteks xt ult case
120 xg7000
150$ psu be quiet 12m 1200w
42.99$ phantom evo
And that's 834$
Roughly
That leaves 1670 for gpu. The msi one was 1600. Now its possible
With high quality components too
Thanks to micro center
😎
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/krYp4M
This is a pretty solid 4090 build for right under $3k
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
lol
No air100 for this budget
Do you really need 1200W when 1K watts will suffice?
how about this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QXYp4M
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7500F, GeForce RTX 4090, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
It doesnt.
it make like some sence
You can eat 1000w with xtx oc'd. 4090 needa 1200w
(not really)
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Fractal Design Pop Air RGB ATX Mid Tower
This is best
I’d personally upgrade a few to get an even 3k tbh
ofc if you spend more then you get better stuff
Unless you buy intel
14900KS
Utterly useless cpu
More money = less performce
For the sake of argument and/or comparison, this is my rig
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Hanouzz/saved/Yp4tCJ
My Custom Build Choice #8, 7800 XT - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
and 3x power draw
7500F
just OC it better then 7600X
Eh
this is my list
Gaming PC (3k) - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, NZXT H6 Flow RGB ATX Mid Tower
Silicone lottery
Already purchased the 7600X + AliExpress tho
+ iGPU coz what if I need to sell my GPU?
makes sence
That white tax (don’t take this wrong you, know what I mean)
ik
In conclusion, 7600X was cheaper than the non-X and has an iGPU for if I ever do a GPU swap
white = looks nice
and for 3k
may as well
What about GT 710?
my laptop actually has a GT 750M
Not worth it for me but yes
Just ordered the XG7000 2 TB NVMe SSD, RX 7800 XT 16 GB graphics card, and the Montech Air 100 aRGB case
nice
Show us the build after
of course
Building this upcoming Sunday and Monday (not today and tomorrow, but a week from now)
K
I’m sorry is the Wii holding up that shelf?
Nope, just fits conveniently under it
Ok
Ignore him he’s always telling people to get 4090s
this is EXACTLY what you say EVERY time you reccomend a 4090 (which is every time you suggest something)
a 4090 costs 2.5x what a 7900xtx costs
Closer to 1.8x
no a xtx can be had for $800 4090 if your lucky 1900 if your normal then 2000-2200
If u have the budget get 4090
I got it for 1800
And the rest of the pc is 1200
If not get 4070 ti or something
Amd amd combo is not as good
yeah
please show me a $1800 4090
an XTX
paying over double the price for less than 20% extra performance is just...
no
💀
nah
I just don't like wasting money
I literally have $5000 rn and I'm considering maybe dropping $500 on a gpu in 6 months
Do you own a 4090?
I do
How old are you
No
???
Wow that’s oddly cheap
Still overpriced and a waste of money but low for a 4090
and 2.2x more than a xtx
Alr bro
U want the most optimal
But I want the best
Let’s just agree to disagree
not really
i had a guy on ZTT server buy the MSI one at 1599 the other day
like a week ago
but ye
Me when I don’t know what I’m talking about
bro. i know you tryna be helpful but your actually dumb af and were recco a 2080ti vs XTX. Please, if you dont the the fuck your talking about SHUT THE FUCK UP
Brother
I told him that I was trolling when I typed that
Are u autistic
U are taking it too deep just like ur mom lil bro chill out
besides even if you want performance you can just buy a nitro+ and OC it
draws 500W though 💀
Electric bill goes crazy
ong
