Hello and thanks for taking time to read my message and hopefully help me get a solution to problem i am having

So every now and then my pc bluescreens and stays in a loop of bluescreens trying to start automatic repair but failing to a blue screen (most of them with code critical process died or system thread exception not handled)
However when I then come back the next day it’s working like nothing happened and has no issues for hours sometimes days until it again starts with bluescreens

Useful additional Information
Bluescreens started after a mobo cpu ram psu upgrade and I have since reinstalled windows twice in hopes of fixing the issue

My current spec is
Intel core i9 14900k
32gb ddr5 6000mhz (running on automatic in bios so probably not 6000mhz)
RTx 3060ti
a 1tb ssd and a 2tb ssd

#

Another useful note since i9 is a hot chip I have an nh d15 and 5 additional noctua case fans to keep it as much under control as possible

raven axle
#

enable the stock intel limits in the bios to fix the heat problems

#

probably will have to disable multicore enhancement and any other bs the motherboard is doing

#

Motherboard manufacturers NEED to stop doing this!!! Enough is enough!

Thanks I’ll try that

Had some stuff come in between but turns out my mobo doesn’t have that setting or at least not that I can find?

#

Not sure if that means it running at default or not cause I couldn’t find the normal power stuff for cpu online

#

Also not quite sure the problem is heat as it’s been off for a weekend but still won’t boot

#

Even my damn usb drive with strelec is blue screening

#

Getting stressed here sorry

The "SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED" error is typically caused by a driver or hardware issue on your computer. Sounds like a bad CPU possibly.

#

Since you already reinstalled windows a few times

mossy anvil
#

oh yes, that could for sure be a cpu problem

vapid oyster
#

Any way to make sure what it is

mossy anvil
#

i would advise you to return that cpu for another one, if the problem persists it could be something else

untold vigil
#

Swapping with known good parts

#

Not always an easy option though

mossy anvil
vapid oyster
#

Okay so most likely cpu I’ll see if I have a different one laying around at work to test but won’t be same model does that matter?

mossy anvil
#

no

#

at this point, we need to check if your motherboard or cpu is the problem

vapid oyster
#

Okay then I’ll unplug this thing and post an update here tommorow as it seems I’m not gonna do anything now

untold vigil
#

Any 12th gen and up should be compatible I believe

mossy anvil
#

yes, it's 12th, 13th and 14th gen that would be compatible with that motherboard

vapid oyster
#

I could just order a cpu to test with

#

Return it after

mossy anvil
#

you can do an i3 or something

#

saves you money tbh

#

get a 12100f

#

run a few tests and if the i3 has no problems, that means there's a problem with the i9 you bought

untold vigil
#

Yeah, under $100 on amazon (US)

vapid oyster
#

Okay and it’s 100% sure the 12th gen works?

mossy anvil
#

yes

vapid oyster
#

Also any advice on what tests to run?

mossy anvil
#

just use it casually

#

or run a benchmark, and make sure to also check the temperatures of your i9 beforehand too

vapid oyster
#

It won’t boot into windows at all anymore

#

Before it booted into my usb drive as well not even that’s working

untold vigil
#

Freezing on windows initializing?

vapid oyster
#

Yeah and then showing those bluescreens

mossy anvil
#

wait, do you have a laptop on hand right now?

vapid oyster
#

Yeah

mossy anvil
#

i'm gonna advise you to try to install linux, it sounds difficult but it isn't as difficult as you think

#

if linux has problems then idk what you can do

#

and linux will only be temporary

untold vigil
#

You can boot linux off a USB too

mossy anvil
#

yes

vapid oyster
#

I got Debian on my Ventoy usb that ok?

mossy anvil
#

but i would advise to install to the drive, it could also be a faulty drive, my friend's drive was failing and we checked with linux to confirm that it was failed

mossy anvil
#

as long as we can get your cpu working

#

or the computer itself operational

vapid oyster
#

I’ll just install to drive all important stuff is backed up or on second drive

mossy anvil
#

but i would say that using pop!_OS is better because they have a version for nvidia cards

vapid oyster
#

Lemme grab laptop in that case

mossy anvil
#

click download NVIDIA

#

but i need to sleep rn so i can't help you further rn, sorry

vapid oyster
#

Okay no problem how do I check drive on Linux

#

okay think ill order the cpu and for now not mess with linux as i got no clue what to do in linux to test stuff

#

ordered it ill update here tommorow

untold vigil
#

Alright, I will check back later

vapid oyster
#

👍

vapid oyster
#

shippinh delayed till tommorow 😦

mossy anvil
#

Oh, you haven't seen slow shipping, I live in Sweden, things take minimum 1 week to ship

vapid oyster
#

Most things here is order before 23:59 receive next day

mossy anvil
#

i mean, i'm used to it, it helps my patience

vapid oyster
#

And it boots

#

Gonna stress it for a bit see if it doesn’t crash

vapid oyster
#

I9 is on its way back to intel

vapid oyster
#

They send me a new core i9 gonna install it this week thanks for the help everyone
