My screen starts tearing after I plug my laptop in, my refresh rate changes to 144hz when I plug my laptop in and it goes to 60hz when it's unplugged. What can I do to stop it

This is because as soon as you unplug your laptop while gaming it will go into power saving mode and reduce CPU and GPU speed. When you plug it back in you will be at full speed again
