Yesterday someone in this server helped m and told me that the 7800x3d is the best GAMING cpu. So i told my dad that i wanna switch out the originally planned i7 14700kf with the 7800x3d. He said yes but that when he built his old gaming pc long ago that AMD cpu's werent stable with rtx graphics cards in his experience. I just wanna know if thats changed now.
#will the 7800x3d be stable with a rtx 4080 super?

So many say oh the system they just got is unstable I say its mosty motherboard auto oc a bit and xmp also a bad oc thats unstable there not any instblity form amd cpu and nivda gpu
would u be able to see if its gonna be unstable if i send u my pc part picker list?
Just get jedec ram and disable any auto oc mother board has
The ram spec
ddr5 6400mhz
Like 4800 cl40 1.1V
32gb
And ddr5 6000 cl48 1.1V
no clue what cl48 1.1v means
And ddr5 5600 cl46 1.1V and it will not say xmp
On pc part picked set the voltage of ram to only 1.1V and pick one I tell you if its jedec
there is 1 option
This jeddc
yh that one
And many other ones
so i need those?
Those are way more likly to be stable them any xmp
so this wouldnt work?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Lian Li O11D EVO RGB ATX Mid Tower
Don't spend that much on cpu cooler
Ram you picked I give 20% chance of working
Just due to speed and being xmp
Other then that's its down to prices and brand prefince
so i should go for the i7 or i9
No dont get that ram or be prepared to manual oc the ram
Past 6000 with amd and Intel ram start to get more and more likely to not work amd needs like top 1%to run 6600 and 6400 is like most cant but nothing special if it can 6200 most can but no guarantee then getting to 5200 will work
And jedec will run at fastest supports speed with out needed to mess with any settings
my build can't run 6400mhz ram?
Unlikely to
how, its basically top of the line no?
Amd 7000 cpu cant do any higher then 6000 reliably but just get jedec
Intel clames 8000 works on 14 gen but that's a lie
Why do you care about ram speed so much
And all 7000 cpu have the same imc so they all do ram the same
But x3d cpu care less about ram do to having way more l3
Don't say that word
And ram speed is not the thing that make ram perfomice faster or slower
It's the relation of timing and speed and cpu imc setting like uclk=mclk or Uclk/2=mclk
ah okay
And the timing listed like 40 40 40 120 those are the not important ones but that are only ones to get listed due to they where important for DDR the first gen of ddr
But are not any more for ddr5
Just get jedec
Like the one listed
That's works and has good IC if you want to manual oc latter
okay
Dear God I almost had a stroke reading this
@untold sparrow bro I think you are just confusing him more
@plain veldt just get 6000mhz ram as 6400 MHz may not work as well and won't be much better for performance
And CL timing are more important then speed for ddr5 on and cpu even more so for x3d chips they don't benefit from the extra speed
Don't get anything higher then CL 36 trying get CL 30 ram
And no there no know stability problems with rtx gpu and amd CPU
I say just go with the 7800x3d much faster than the i7 for gaming and more upgradeable for future proofing because of am5
What ever instability your dad has was mostly likely not from the cpu gpu combo
It likely from something else like a bad overclock
whats better ddr5 6000 cl30 or 6400 cl 32
i take ram with higher tcl if it more mhz any day
and fun thing is threre the same tcl if you think about it
It will be the exact same performance for x3d chips
no 6400 faster
Ns count is misseding
and that dose not even matter much since tcl has littel inpact with newer gen of ram
but ddr3 stalls out way more
6400 MHz is less stable as well coz you are overclocking the memory controller
hahahahah
how is 6000 any difnret
i have not had xmp ever worl form me
ddr3 ddr4 5 systems more ram kits and its peroimce is bad
The memory controller is ment to run 6000 MHz?
your joking right
imc on amd maxes out about 3200mhz then to get higher ram speed you need to enter uclk/2=mclk
on good cpu
yes thats what we be speaking about
Also please stop using so much technical jargen
i am not ram is just pain
and i have seen board run imc at 1500mhz at ddr5 6000
even for auto that sucks
And xpo
This
Man
You are not good at explaining things
You know what they are
But you assume people know what you are talking about
Please don't do this people just end up more confused
Well computers are technical, and these are specs.
Fmr my 7800x3D I got 6000 mhz cl 30.
Don't assume people know what you are talking about is all I want to say
Just noticed the overkill triple fan AIO for the 7800x3d o.0
Like here OP clearly doesn't know what jeddc is
I mean it looks good?
Even if the cpu only consumes 75 watts
sure. I'm also guilty of extravances 😄
Putting a NH-U12A on mine
i did too
hell yeah! thats the goal lol
thanks, i went for that in my spec list after a while anyways
