#Keyboard space bar not pressing down
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
see that metal bar in below the spacebar? both sides of that need to clip into the keycap
wait, is that already in the keycap? then it needs to clip into the keyboard
Yes it’s already attached
yeah, it needs to clip or slide into the supports on the keyboard
i believe they're right here
does the keycap need to go on a certain way?
They need to line up with them 3 things in the middle
But I can’t get the metal bar to line up
that metal bar is necessary for keeping the spacebar from having the exact problem you have
Managed to put the bar under and lined up
Going to see if it fixed it
Is it better just getting a new keyboard? Same thing happens
is it doing the same thing?
Yes
so when you push on one side, the other side doesnt press down. is that the same for both sides?
Yes
yeah some part of the key is probably broken
does the spacebar still function?
It functions but it’s the same as having a messed up analog stick
Ruins the whole purpose
I just wanted to make sure if it was something I was doing wrong but it’s likely something broken, I’ll get a new one.
yeah, id say you'll have to get a new keyboard
Ok, thanks for your help. 🙂
Before that, if possible try rearranging other switches on your keyboard if possible to remove to where the space bars is located to see if it could be because of the physical actuator/toggle switch whatever u call the keycap
Otherwise it could be the electrical traces which would need to be soldered
