#I have Wi-Fi but nothing want’s to load
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Your browser says "PROXY CONNECTION FAILED" which means something has configured a proxy on your computer / browser. Can another device connect to the same network and surf the web okay? If yes, this narrows the issue to just this one computer, so I'd next test trying to access the internet from multiple web browsers to see if the issue is limited to just certain ones.
Since the image implies you're using Brave Browser, I would try surfing the internet using another browser. If other browsers work, bingo bango, the problem only exists in Brave, at which point I would peruse Brave's support forums.

Description of the issue: I’m using Brave on my Macbook Air. Suddenly it stopped loading webpages. No page will load at all and it’s been like that for days. Websites load fine using Chrome and Safari. It even works perfectly on brave with tor. But “normal” Brave nothing at all. just this error No internet There is something wrong with the pro...
I can’t open anything
And it’s just my pc
I tried on my dad pc and it worked
Everything on this Wi-Fi work like my phone my dad mac and windows pc work
For some reason is just my pc
Great that you've narrowed it to just this PC, or rather, the web browser, since your ping test appears to be working fine. See my suggestion above about troubleshooting web browsers on your PC.
You'll need to open this on another computer, but it contains steps to disable proxy settings in most browsers. (Follow the Chrome steps for most Chromium based browsers like Brave, Vivaldi, Operat, Edge, etc.)

Okay so my mother is messed up
I tried to restart and reset my dns and all that change ip new ip config ma nothing worked
That’s for the help tho
Mother?
Motherboard*
have you just tryed reinstalling windows?
I reinstalled windows last week
try reinstalling the wifi drivers then
this isnt wifi this is ethernet logo
this have nothing to do with proxy
this is just your ethernet that is missconfigured
try first to see if your internet rooter sees your pc
this might also show if you have a vpn on
Ok I didn’t explain everything my router sees my pc like @hearty nexus said but I can’t do anything I have a Wi-Fi card in so I tried that and it still doesn’t do nothing I ran commands to reset my dns to see but it just doesn’t do anything I reset my Ethernet and it still didn’t do anything I took out my Wi-Fi to see and my motherboard knows it has Ethernet but doesn’t read anything if that makes sense
again... based on your supplied screenshot / image have you checked to see if a proxy is configured? have you tested multiple web browsers? I see Brave in the screenshot, but you should also have Edge.

I did tried what you told me to try and nothing worked
Did you find a proxy setting as noted in the BitDefender article?
Proxy settings for Windows (technically old school Internet Explorer) may impact anything else that also utilizes the same settings, hence why other things may be impacted.
Spotify, discord, brave,ea app, epic games,Activision none of these are opening
Worse case back eveeything up and do a factory reset
I tried that today and nothing
I have hzd multiple internet crash it always show this error
if you already reset everything this is just coming from rooter
can you check if your computer got an ip adress?
like if the dhcp is working
Wi-Fi and Ethernet are both working in a since but I’m not getting anything like is there but nothing works and it’s not disabled
Yes it does but nothing works
can you go on you rooter interface and watch if he is sending data to you computer
Try to do a ping
netsh int ip reset netsh winsock reset ipconfig /release ipconfig /flushdns
like ping archlinux.org and see if there's a response (I think PowerShell also has that tool)
I’ve tried all
migh work since the computer can communicate with the dhcp
even reseting your devices settings on your rooter
Yea
like idk if their is some sort of "forgot the device" button
@novel jungle open Command prompt and type ping archlinux.org
Is gonna do the same thing it did for google
yup
Ahh you did?
Yea
ahh did you get a response?
bro what how can this work
Same thing is works but nothing want to open
what have you changed on you device to get this error 😭
Did you try a different browser, I saw you were talking about edge beforehand, did you try with that?
this make litteraly no sense
Idk bro it was out of nowhere
RIP
wait you said the ping was working?
do you have another device to put on your Ethernet port
Ik my friend is a network system administrator and he was confused too
Because I know brave can sometimes be very weird, I've heard of other people having similar issues with it
Yea my dad pc work just fine
I am too 😎 (like everyone)
Nice
you have a wifi card and wifi not working?
To clarify again:
- ping google.com returned results (i.e. packets were received?)
- Edge doesn't work?
Yup
the components might be dead
That don’t work either
or maybe drivers
Yea that’s why I said my motherboard is dead
Everything is updated
I assume it is Software, if you can ping say google or something
or wifi bandwidh but I rly suck in this domain
I can ping google but can’t open it
Not in Edge either?
Same thing with edge
might come from firewall maybe?
Is not my fire wall
making guess since debuging like this is so fucking hard
Then that gotta be some kinda firewall issue, but the confusing thing is that it works with ping, so DNS resolution works apparently, as well as reaching the Internet is possible
yeah right
I’ve never done nothing with my fire wall
did you try deactivating windows firewall?
Exactly I can ping but can’t do jack
Can you try ping janishutz.com to see if you can get to a website which definitely isn't in the OS's network / DNS cache?
is cmd ping and google request the same?
Yea
like is it the same process
Is just ping and then a site you know
I don't think it goes through the same part of the network stack if I am correct... well parts of it do
This is my motherboard https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B550M Pro4/index.asp

CPU?
Have you tried updating the BIOS? But before you do that, I have an interesting suggestion. Do you have a spare usb drive?
Alright, thx
That looks totally fine
I did update my bios and I reinstalled windows too
I think its 100% firewall problem
That didn't solve it? Also, when reinstalling Windows, did you wipe the drive clean or did you just reinstall the base OS?
(so in the installer, did you select custom or keep data and reinstall?)
Wipe it clean since I didn’t wanna do it again
So all your programs were gone and you did install the newest network driver from AsRock's website?
Yea
without internet ?
I am on the same page as you here
Literally I’ve tried everything 😭😭
Okay, one last idea, try this: Do you have a spare USB drive?
Yea
I am trying to search with chat gpt since I reached all I knew here so not sure we are on the same x)
Alright, go here https://endeavouros.com and download it, also download Rufus (https://rufus.ie/en/) and flash the ISO to the USB drive
going straight to linux lol
Then shut down your PC, boot into BIOS and set Endeavour as boot override and boot it up. Use Firefox and see if the issue persists
I'm Linux user, so that's why
The thing is I don’t want Linux
trying on a differents os is a good debug way ngl
This won't change anything about your OS, so nothing will be installed
so we see if it rly come from pc config or hardware
I think is hardware
Yeah and since Linux can live boot, it won't affect your data
So it's just as if you plugged in another drive and booted up from that
I don’t care about data since I use this pc for gaming
But we can't be 100% sure until we tried another OS
Right, but still
I gotta try that tmr everyone sleeping I can’t use my dad pc to download that rn
I got a new motherboard and ima take the one that I have now somewhere to see if they can find the issue
alr
I’m going to try what you told me but I think is hardware
It could be, but it very much sounds like Firewall to me
just try to see if this work on the New before
So it was a hardware problem I did what you told me @crystal oxide and it didn’t work I put the new motherboard in a everything worked fine
