lenovo legion 14 inch - rtx 4060, r7 7840HS, 32gb DDR5 6400 ram. coming from years of just having intel graphics (student life) this is more powerful than anything I've ever had yet more portable than ever. I love modern technology :D

monitor is an old Acer 144hz
switch in the corner behind monitor

I tried to maximise desk space for work, food, whatever, and I think I did a good job. most of the I/O on the laptop is at the back not the sides, making cables a non issue

The Ryzen 7 7840hs is a weird and and it’s only in laptops

#

Nothings wrong with it it’s just funky

true lol

#

interestingly if you select the higher tier cpu on lenovo's website when "building" the laptop, the 32gb ram is no longer an option only 16gb

#

(at least here)

Weird how the have 4 though, the architecture is based off the generation similar to motherboard socket

They actually have zen 3 and zen 2 7th gen CPUs, but only for the mobile sector iirc

always been a laptop person, i just move about a lot

#

yeah this one in particular, even the more critical reviews they were struggling to find significant cons at the price point

#

soldered ram is one i guess but i dont care much for that if its 32 gig

pulsar lagoon

What would be cool would be if soldered RAM would just be the most amount a CPU supports so that you never feel like upgrading, but I guess that would come at a price

#

I kind of wish the ROG Ally had 32GB of RAM, 16GB is just on the edge of still being enough with the iGPU taking away 6GB, there are only 10GB of system memory remaining and I often got pretty close to that 10GB of system memory while playing

32 should be the base for any "gaming" machine, excluding the most budget options

#

annoyed me when i was researching laptops how many of them are like £2-3k with 16gb

I can actually find laptops with 32GB of RAM for under 1600 CHF ||CHF=Swiss currency||(1810 US$)

yeah thats around what i paid for this, a bit less

#

£1.5k
