Friend of mine from the military is looking to build a PC with a budget of $2000.

He occasionally brings over the PC to play locally so a case that doesn’t mind traveling is preferred. Doesn’t have to be mITX but ATX AND microATX is okay.
Not sure if he cares about Tempered Glass but open to an option that includes it.
He currently runs dual 1080p but may upgrade to a dual 1440p (playing single screen windowed mode)
Games he plays are LOL and WOW, but I want him to have the option to play games with us if he decided to try new things out.

Dual SSD and AM5 build preferred. Open to water cooling.
Will probably have a separate budget later on for monitor upgrades and peripherals.
Goal is to make it seem like a definite upgrade over his current prebuilt.

Assuming you don't have a micro center near you

The 1tb xg7000 should be that price on newegg I believe

with an adapter you could put a sfx psu in this and still be fine, but alot of gaming power in a smaller build

#

the 4tb ssd is for storing games/whatever else on it

#

also pretty much the cheapest tlc nand drive at that capacity

true but then you face a solid front which changes the airflow path a fair bit tbh

Also the AP201 needs fans

The air doesn’t go in through the front

ap201 is mesh all around

though also gives the option for liquid cooling at any time if they wanted

it worked

manually added custom part, if it won't directly add it, and from the looks of it, it's due to it being on deal on newegg is why it's not directly adding it

If you wanna save money could go for the plain b650. Don’t NEED the better chipset.

# rugged wraith Gotcha

learnt that from amazon deals when they happen, and when also adding in their "translated" links

Was thinking I might be better served with a 2 drive system 1 for boot 1 for games

you definitely can be

#

if anything happensm you're not re-installing everything, only just what's needed

I imagine it would be a lot easier to upgrade later. Do many games and current tech really take advantage of Resizeable BAR?

#

Wondering about doing a 4.0 for a 2 tb boot and a 1 tb games

you don't need more than 500gb as a boot drive, doing more than that is a waste, and even then going gen4 doesn't give you any performance boosts when gaming
