My PC randomly shuts down, the screen goes black for about 5 -10 seconds and then it reboots. I'm honestly at a total loss for what the issue is. I've reinstalled drivers, the operating system and even replaced all of my components besides my storage and it's still happening. I used to get an error in event logger before the crash but now that I replaced more components there's not even an error in event logger anymore. My only possible explanation is that whatever is causing the crashes now is different from what was causing them before? maybe the PSU even though I replaced that as well? Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

Specs are:
Mobo: Gigabyte B650m K
CPU: Ryzen 7600x
CPU Cooler: Deepcool AK620
GPU: RX 6950XT
RAM: 32GB (2*16) 6000 MHz
PSU: Gigabyte UD850w
have you tried replacing psu instead of everything
else
are you connected to a ups
reboots or cycles like a force power off and then a power up
PSU was one of the first things I replaced when I upgraded my GPU, to handle the extra power draw
Not sure what you mean sorry. The screen goes black for about 10 seconds and then it's starting up again as if I just turned it on without me doing anything
go to the bios there should be a option for auto startup after power faliure
turn that off
if there is power or psu issue you might now know i the pc is loosing power some other reason
I'll try that, thanks.
Happened again, pc still restarts on its own. I also disabled the setting in windows to automatically reboot after a system crash and despite both of those settings it still rebooted.
this means it is not power issues
open hardware info and check if anything is very hot
that can cause pc to force shut off
I'm still skeptical about the PSU. Maybe it's loosing power long enough to crash windows but not enough to register as a power loss to the motherboard?
Nothing is getting hot, I've checked that, my cpu doesn't even get to 70c under load and my GPU can get hot but the crashes occur when I'm not even doing anything
this can be a point if u have a usb stick try using it to boot into some bootbale linux os to ensure it is not your drive failing and load your pc using the usb os
stress test your pc on that usb bootable os and not on windows
and if the pc does not crash after one hour on that os then if is your drive
Yeah I might try that, though since the crashes can sometimes take hours it will be a little annoying but not more annoying than the crashes themselves
are the force boots after hours or in bw minutes
and if hours which type of drive are u using
It's completely random seeming. It can take hours or even days to happen but when it does happen it seems to happen again within the next 10 minutes.
I'm using a 1tb samsung 970pro nvme
I do have a HDD too but it isn't my boot drive so I'm assuming it's irrelevant
hmm open crystal disk info and check if anything is wrong with any of the drives
it could be
it could be that one of the drive has a very bad sector then your windows is just forced restarted due the critical erroe
Both say they are good
Though if I understand correctly, crystal disk can't check for bad sectors, right?
it can
try removing the hardrrive and then use your pc for a whiule
I'll give it a go
Not the hard drive. Crash happened without it plugged in.
wdym
i am unable to understand would be goo dif you could send a vid or something
Ok so when I power on my laptop
The screen won’t turn on
ok
you got a mac bruh ?
cause only macs start up like that
and if windows which one ?
No I have a lenovo l380 laptop
I got a Mac now cuz the laptop broken but it works when u hit the keyboard area
It worked yesterday till today where no matter how hard I hit the lenovo laptop
It won’t turn on
Lenovo Thinkpad Musical Tone Error at boot up - Black screen beeping error. Lenovo Diagnostics App
This is an error that can be common on Lenovo Computers.
We are going to be using the Lenovo App called: "Lenovo Diagnostics"
Follow the steps provided for the Lenovo tool. Depending on the Thinkpad you are working on the part replacement process...
I found the music
Watch the first 5 seconds
It’s giving me that music
Thing is I can’t even connect it to a monitor
It’s not even turning on
Like the power button is on
The crazy part is ever since the IT gave me a free battery replacement
My laptop has not been able to turn on and they refuse to fix it because it’s over warranty
Idk what’s going on with the laptop they took it apart and reassembled everything but it still didn’t fix it
you got a recipt
then you can ask them to fix it
No it’s my schools it
does your area have any local cyber cafes ?
I have a monitor
I tried connecting to to the hdmi
But nothing is showing on my monitor
oh
What could this possibly mean?
It also requires me to hit it for it to turn on
Or else the lights just flashes
Like all the lights including fn, mute, e.tc
They lights just blink
And when I hit the laptop near the keyboard area it opens
But it just plays the music
And it won’t fully turn on
i mean it is a error code you could try to open your laptop and reseat the ram
and replug all the connectors
then it might be fixed
as far as i know the laptop is giving a error like a motherboard would but the laptop does not specify which error
Idk how to open the laptop I’m a noob 2 of the screws won’t budge
then the best bet is to take to ur it and ask for help or go too a repair shop
Oh no it’s over warranty and they gave me a free battery replacement when they shouldn’t
The it guy was nice but I think he broke something
And I don’t need the laptop cuz I got a new max
Max
Mac
I just use the laptop to watch YouTube cuz I don’t want to get my MacBook keyboard shiny
even if it might be broken by the guy you can still ask him for help
xD
It was a year ago since that day the other workers just said that he has years of experience and there’s no way he broke it
And they said “over warranty” and told me to take it to a repair shop
don't tell them that "they broke it" just say it is not working idk why
when you point out that they broke it they will obv get angry
Oh they have a policy where they check the model and they will immediately know if it has warranty
then i don't no man
sorry :(
U think I can sell the parts?
u can sell the whole laptop
would be better to sell it as whole for spare parts
It has my personal info but I can’t log back on to remove all my data
The buyer could just fix it and have access to everything
does it have a hdd ?
or ssd
I think so
get the hdd removed from your IT tell them you are upgrading
