I was considering buying a brand new PC, coming from a base M1 MBA. Gave my old PC with an i5-8400 and a 1060 (3gb) to my younger brother who needed a computer, because I needed a laptop for school and he needed a computer for meetings. Will continue to use the MBA for school, but I recently started music production and realized that I can't have Musescore and FL Studio open at the same time without like 6-7gb of swap (soddered 8gb ram). Also, lack of multi-monitor support has become a dealbreaker. I have a list of parts that I'm considering:
Ryzen 7700 (stock cooler)
Gigabyte B650M (no need for wifi, just going to rely on LAN unless you guys recommend otherwise)
Teamgroup T-Create Classic 2x16
Kingston NV2 1TB
Asus Dual OC RX 7600xt (should I go nvidia?)
Fractal Focus G Mini
Corsair RM750e (heard that I needed at least 2x est. power requirements in case of power spike)
I'm still considering whether or not to bite the bullet on this build, but I have been looking to play Jedi Survivor and Spiderman 2018 at 1440p 60fps, along with some totally legal switch emulation with YUZU, maybe Totk upscaled @60fps. Thanks for any advice that you guys could give.
#Wanting to build a PC w/ budget of ~1200 USD

What is your budget for the PC?
1200 USD
Do you live near a microcenter?
I think so
Please check for me, thanks
I’ve got one like 15 mins away
Thanks so much
If possible, which MC? if you are building this PC soon.
This is what I'm thinking to start with
Tustin
Seems like a pretty good deal
For a mobo+ 7800x3d+RAM combo
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
What do you think?
That seems like a good build, thank you very much.
Let me mark as solved
I'd swap case
For pop air
10$ more for rgb fans
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Fractal Design Pop Air RGB ATX Mid Tower
I’d swap out the ssd
Kingspec XG7000 is the same price on newegg
Thanks for the replacements guys
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Zalman S2 ATX Mid Tower
Pass on s2. Good case but fractal>>>
I’ll see what I can do about the fractal. I’ll try and pick one up.
Compare it on SSD tier list
4000D airflow is herd mentality
Hmm ok
Proven, works
I’ll do some more research on cases
High-end ssd vs entry level
Just never seen kingspec. No clue who oem is, Sodgim is SK Hynix
I thought solidigm were intel
Intel sold it to SK Hynix as they left the SSD business
Ok
Honestly if Kingspec warranty is really good, then I don't see a problem
bruh the amd bundles are out of stock where i live, but the individual cpu is avaliable for 350
Also fractal vs 4000d?
im probably going with the 4000d in white
Oh
Rlly? It's a good case yeah
The fractal has rgb fans included at lower price, and is easier to cable manage 4 me
should i do a microatx build? the bundle isn't available rn, or do they restock pretty frequently?
MicroATX is usually more budget components these days because SLI is dead nowadays so 2 GPU systems don't exist so if you want to focus on form factor, either ATX, or ITX
Most MicroATX cases are really budget now tbh
