#mix and matching ram?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Is your ram utilization at 100%?
Currently
Like in games is your ram all being used?
It’s best not to mix and match kits
Even if its the same gb and the same mhz
Yes
Ok
Alr
Yeah
then RIP ram working at higher then 2133
Why? My current ram is 3200 and 16gb and the new ram i wanna get si 3200 and 16gb ram
Just diff brand
That’s not how simple ram is
One even if you buy 2 kits of same xmp ram good luck having the same ram
Brand dose not matter
The ic is what matter
I have not had xmp work for me at all in the past and it’s like once every 2 days where some ask for help with crashing and disabling xmp fix it
Then I tell them deal with slower clock speed or manual oc with help of #overclocking
It works fine
Most of the time
Hell my kits don’t even have the same specs
In my experience it works 0% of the time out of the 4 kits I tried on 3 cpus and 3 motherboards
In many configs
Lucky
Did you try just manually setting the ram speed
Xmp that did not work so I went to manual oc got it fast and stable
So it did work then
Xmp was crashing
XMP does not work very often yea
Manual oc I did worked
But if you just manually set the speed and memtest it should be fine
Don’t use memtest86
Why not?
It’s shit vs modern stress tests
I know it’s kinda an easy test to pass but it’ll at least tell you if XMP is fucked or not
Like pass 1 hour of mem test 86 fails in 5 min of tm5
@abstract rover what country?
though this depends on what config is used
Why? Canada

not really, i know the silicon power ram will work straight away on xmp, same as that teamgroup one would, and both are 3200 cl16
Yeah
just do a complete swap out of the same kit at a higher capacity
Ok
how is that “better” if it’s CL22
