#is this a good build

let me see if I can make a better one
do you need nvidia for anything?
like raytracing or productivity?
something to consider is intel has no upgrade path as they are switching to a new socket
yeah
i don't really know stuff about pc but i'm looking for a gaming pc with rgb to
the aio looks cool that's why i got it
I mean you could go for looks
but you could also spend that budget on more performance instead
hold up
@stoic musk is budget $1500 usd?
id recommend not doing that. i know from experience because i also wanted a flashy rgb filled computer, but i only got mid parts and i wish i put money into performance not looks
I didn't go for parts but
I just chose bad parts
that too
could have gotten b dies if I spent $10 extra on the ram
ðŸ˜
I did somehow find a 6650xt at msrp during the shortage though
had i waited just a few more months i could have saved a lot. i feel like i built mine right before inflation prices started to drop
because if it is, don't buy that shit
you can get a 7800XT build for $1200
i spent nearly 1k cad on a 6600xt, which has never really worked too well and nothing ive done has sorted it out.
anyways. lets not get too off topic!
@spark lily
im going to assume usd given that gpu is like 700 cad
ok
which is over 40% faster than that 4060ti
i just checked, not worth getting a 7700 xt to save a couple bucks. only a $50 difference
$1200 - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
yep
for $1500 you can get 7900 xt
$1500 - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
80% faster than 4060ti
@stoic musk
how much would it be to have the 7800xt with the 7600x?
$1200
this build
oh wow
oh? it says thats the 7600
yeah the 7600 and 7600x are literally the same cpu
which is why that build has a filter to choose the cheapest between the two
sometimes the 7600x is cheaper
gotcha
basically to turn a 7600 into a 7600x you enable PBO and increase the power limit
to turn a 7600x insto a 7600 you turn on eco mode
@supple folio I think the 7600X may have slightly better silicon but the difference between them with PBO enabled on the 7600 is under a percent
ah, nice
nah it's not i just don't wanna spend over 2k
an XTX build also fits in your budget then
$1800 - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
best value is that $1200 7800XT build
best performance would be this one
the XTX is 45% faster than the 7800XT but a build with it costs 50% more
@spark lily some guy sent this to https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6Zw2YN
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
That’s fine but mine is quite a bit cheaper
And has a better mobos
which one?
I sent 3 lol
also it depends on how much performance you want
even a 7800XT is a lot faster than a 4060 ti
so you could save and go with the $1200 build if you want
like if you want to game at 1080p the 7800XT is probably enough
prob the 2nd one it. looks better then the 3rd
and 2 tbs
and are the fans on top
u gotta put on too @spark lily
?
This one?
I made a better version since then
$1400 - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
Cheaper cooler
Let me make a 2TB version
Of it
Ok I just edited the $1500 build
$1500 - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
The best value ssd literally changes every few days
ðŸ˜
u could find a aio for me and some fans i'll pay over budget @spark lily
AIO is not worth it
most you should pay for is a phantom spirit evo
also that case comes with good fans
u could find some fans for me for the top panel @spark lily
you dont need
the 4 included fans provide more than enough airflow
especially since they're all 140mm
wdym
that seems to have the stock 4 fans and an AIO
oh i forgot the aio is the cou cover and the 2 fans
also you usually want an AIO with intel cpus because they use so much more power
but with AMD cpus even a cheap air cooler is fine
if you want you can get a phantom spirit evo for $10 more
itll improve temps a bit
for the cpu?
yes
the good choices are either this or the frost tower thats in the build
yea this one
honestly
thats a $1500 build I might as well swap the evo back in
it has been done
yea seems fine
however
get the cpu, mobo, and gpu off newegg
instead of amazon
You can use PCPP
like the list says on the side here
they are lol
$1500 - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
this list
Yes but why is it a screen recording of an amazon cart
bc theyre making sure they're ordering the right stuff on amazon ig
@stoic musk you have the amount to buy on the case set as 2
oh thanks didn't see
dont buy 2 cases by accident lol
also i really want to use the aio it looks cool are aios bad ?
aw ok
and for how much more the aios cost they only decrease your temps by like a degree or two on ryzen cpus
you can still get one if you want, but idk anything about AIOs
you would have to ask someone else
ok ima just get what u gave me
also keep in mind a straight up block of metal fins with fans on it will always be more reliable than an AIO, because there's less moving parts
the lifespan of either an aio or a regular cooler is still many years though
They’re fine but you definitely dont need it. Any AIO you buy will be purely for aesthetics
ok thanks then guys ima just stick with this build https://pcpartpicker.com/user/object_Object/saved/WVBNpg
$1500 - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
i will update u guys on the build in a couple weeks prob
what's it for?
Because AMD gpus are about 20% worse in raytracing
To make games look better
oh then yea
Problem is it absolutely tanks your fps
So many people don’t like it
Well raytracing is a different method of rendering the game
Read that article
Itll probably get more important as it matures in the next few years
ok so it make the game more realistic, i'll take that then it should make my fps drop that much
Like for example
In cyperpunk with ray tracing off you can get around 110 fps at 1440p
oh hell nah then lol
Yeah thats why people dont like it lmao
If you take nvidia’s 4070 ti
Which is the same price as the 7900 xt
You will be getting 98 fps in cyperpunk instead of 109 (without raytracing)
With raytracing it will run at around 47
ok yea i'll just stick to this build
So beating the 7900 xt in raytracing even though it loses normally
yea i figured
Do you really wanna halve your fps to make the game look a little better lol
Here is chart
The % is how much performance the card loses consistently to non raytracing
Yea if you dont wanna use raytracing anyway you go AMD for the extra performance
Yes
What games do you play and at what resolution
i play rust five m and mainly fps games and story games like hogwarts and kratos
usually at 1440 i think
Yeah go with this build then
ok bet
I might have suggested trading some gpu budget for a better cpu at 1080p if you play esports
But it shouldn’t be an issue at 1440p
nah i won't be doing esports
Yeah its only in a very specific scenario when you want to spend more on the cpu
Otherwise the 7600 is a damn good cpu for $200
should i change it then
No
actually nah cause im tryna buy a gaming chair to and a keyboard
and a desk and that's all
I can explain why not to if you want
yea sure
ight im here whenever
nope
its just whatever is limiting your performance in the system
is it benchmarking
it will always be something
but usually you want it to be the gpu
right
bc it's the thing you spent the most on
Aw ok
how do I explain this
so like
the 7800X3D costs almost double what the 7600 does
and it performs a lot better in games
Mhm
but if your 7600 is already enough to keep your gpu as the bottleneck
you won't see any improvement by buying a 7800X3D
because you aren't even fully using your 7600
the extra power doesn't do anything for you
so you might as well invest those extra $200 into a better gpu, which will give you extra performance
rather than an overkill cpu
Which i have right ?
yeah
which is why you dont wanna get a better cpu if its outside of your budget because itll result in a worse gpu
and less overall fps
now the difference is if you're playing esports at 1080p
because in that case, 1080p will result in less gpu usage just because you're rendering less pixels
and esports games themselves are optimized for performance
lowering the load on the gpu even more
letting the gpu render more frames
however
this means the cpu has to work harder
to feed the gpu with the data to render all those frames
in that case you end up with the cpu as the bottleneck
and taking $200 from the gpu's budget and getting a 7800X3D instead does actually end up giving you better fps
and returns the bottleneck to the gpu
so do i even have to bottleneck for my setup
nah
this is the explanation for why you dont get a 7800X3D instead
bc then youd have to get a worse gpu
to fit in $1500 budget
for your setup a 7600 is more than enough cpu power
ohh alright glad i had a good budget then
yeah
the other time you might wanna get a better cpu is if you're in a kind of limbo zone between different gpus
like for example if your budget was $1600 instead
and there weren't any good gpus exactly $100 more expensive than the 7900 XT
then you could either save the extra, use it on other parts, or get a better cpu so you can wait longer before upgrading it in the future
oh ok then tysm for the help again bro
np
also the 7600 being an amazing cpu helps
it performs as well as the 5800X3D which is $300 and on an older platform
ok perfect u really know a lot glad u helped me
actually I just remembered some graphs to show my point
you see how the performance gains get closer and closer to a flat line as you go up in cpu power
yea performs jsut like the higher ones
you'll get like 10% more fps by buying a 7800X3D, but a $200 more expensive gpu is way more than 10% faster
k ima sleep
gn
alright gn thanks again
np
I picked parts that werent that good for my first build and now I learn from my mistakes lol
yea i was just copying what tech creators said on tiktok but ig there wasn't enough glad i came to u, u gave me better
tiktok 💀
yes lmao
