Does his new computer have an OS on it already?
ye his new pc is all set upped
but he doesnt know what to do on old one cause he had it all working but after he took all storage drives from it he is scared maybe to put windows on that pc now its different
I'd recommend him to move the OS onto the NVME drive, as it will be much faster. You can clone the drive using software, but I'd recommend getting a fresh windows install on a USB stick and installing it to the NVME drive. Then once installed, connect up all the old storage devices and transfer any needed files (photos, games, docs...) from the drive with the old OS on to another. Then wipe the old OS drive. (If that makes sense)
no he doesnt want anything old on it, he just wants fresh windows install on that old pc that will now run on nvme
Oh wait I think I might have misread it 😅 Does he want his Old computer back up and running?
yes exactyl xD
for my dumb english
Gotcha, no worries. So current state of the old PC is all storage is removed bar the new empty NVME drive?
yes all old storage is outside and he put new nvme inside
now he needs usb with windows ye ?
If so tell him to follow this guide for installing windows:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11
You'll want to use the "Create Windows 11 Installation Media"
Once installed, eject the USB, pop it into the old computer and run through the installer.
so he puts usb with windwos on old pc and just starts the pc and it will all show up ?
As the old computer doesn't have any drives in it with an image it should auto boot up the installation media. If not, he'll have to go into his motherboard BIOS and change boot order to be USB first.
If he does change the boot order, once windows has installed, remove the USB stick, head back into BIOS and put the NVME drive as 1st in the boot order.
i see
But yeah it's quite simple once you go through the installation, it walks you through everything 🙂
he is on vacation but can i tell him to add u and maybe if he needs additional help can he go on video call as hes quite clumsy xD
xD I don't mind, there's tonnes of YT videos on it too!
