Any advice for this build
Part List - Intel Core i3-12100F, GeForce RTX 4060, Montech X3 Mesh ATX Mid Tower
I would probably say buy a bulk storage hard disk just for files that you don't want cluttering your fast storage, then I would seriously recommend choosing a better PSU
Both due to the efficiency rating, and as its not a modular PSU.
I have a friend that's used this and it's seemed to treat them well, so you could give this a go: https://www.amazon.com/MSI-MAG-A750GL-Gaming-Supply/dp/B0CC3QBGDL/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=2AVD4HAGRN3YQ&keywords=700w+psu+fully+modular&qid=1706537332&sprefix=modular+psu+700w+%2Caps%2C370&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1
What country, budget, and use?
USA around 700 and gaming
Have you bought that list yet
Why
Intel has no upgrades and Nvidia is just horrible with pricing and VRAM
Friends have intel and nvidia I am more familiar with them
That's a horrible reason I must say
Pricing per dollar I see as more important then publicity
Idc
They wasted their money
I know I’m dumb
Well Intel and Nvidia were better then then they are now
Amd
Do AMD for GPU also
I can’t
4090 is 20% stronger than the 7900xtx that is half the price
I know
With amd cpu and gpu then you can utilize direct access memory
I wouldn't spend over $2000 on an all AMD PC if I thought that AMD had issues
If it’s that much cheaper and same or more performance I can do it
Ok. Good
You won't want to after this
We’ll see
Nvidia only has an advantage for heavy RT
The rest don't matter for us gamers
And I mean heavy rt
Not just light RT
XTX is 8% slower than 4080 in light RT
That's barely noticeable ngl
That's getting 92fps instead of 100
I don use rt
Good
I need high fps
So there is no reason for you to get Nvidia
So if amd can get more performance and less price for this build I can go amd
I have a ps5 so anything is prob better I guess
For high fps
Are you still here?
Yes
Ok
I might be a little busy for some time
Ok
But I'll try to help as soon as possible
All good
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 5700 XT, Montech AIR 1000 PREMIUM ATX Mid Tower
Can someone fix this list
It just seems horrible to me
Cheap - AMD Ryzen 5 5600G, Arc A750
Yes
5600g?
Faster
That's a 5500
?
Nope
I think it's stupid too
It is
It’s ~12% faster in games
Proof
Tom’s hardware
Can you link it
But it's a 5500
No
That's the issue with it
That's not the end all be all
Or we would have like 10ghz cpus
Maybe I looked up a 5600 non g review by accident
You can compare within the same architecture though right
Are the drivers already ready?
Good value
Yes
Not really
Hmm
Let me check actually
Well ill swap that for a 5500
3600 is better. Has gen 4 PCIe
The 5500 doesn’t?
Nope
A750 looks pretty good now
Let me check
126 vs 132 when compared to 5600g
It seems to be slower
When the fuck did 6700s drop to $300
I'd go with the 3600
Yea
That PCIe gen 3 on the 5500 is a letdown
Cheap - AMD Ryzen 5 5600G, Arc A750
lmao discord has the wrong cpu cached in the embed
SSD is slow
It doesn’t matter
Get a sn770 or xg7000
They the same price
It does matter
The difference in load times between a sata and really fast nvme ssd are like
A few seconds at most
It's a small difference but it only makes sense
K
That's what I go to
Just has no dram cache
Is the sn770 the faster one
The xg7000 does
Ah
Whqt build so I use
Maybe go with that one then
Let me check
None yet
Ok
We’re working out the ssd rn lol
5700xt is slightly faster than a750
Yeah
So dram or performance?
But is slower
Performance
K
If the ssd is a few seconds slower but still has 1tb it doesn’t matter too much
I don’t need to fastest ssd ever
Cheap - AMD Ryzen 5 5600G, Arc A750
It’s the same price tho
The 5700xt is better than the a750
No
Yes
You may be looking at old reviews
Huh
5700xt equal to a770 8gb
Yeah
And most ppl dont want used
Ok do we have a final build
Ok its bc I spent that $100 on ram, cpu cooler, and psu
Can I have a final build link
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Arc A750, Montech AIR 1000 PREMIUM ATX Mid Tower
Why not the amd gpu
Ok I’ll be back in a bit
I have a few issues
More expensive ram and more expensive cpu and intel gpu
Yea
Well
Gpu still worse
I gtg
Ill try to make a $300 gpu fit in later
If I can get a $300 gpu in then u can get 6700
Faster than 4060
🔺
I just want high fps for a good price
And if I go back to the original cpu and motherboard combo then it will be cheaper good performance and can fit a better gpu in it
Because a 115 cpu 105 mobo and 68 dollar ram doesn’t offer much budget for a good gpu
So if we go back to the 33 dollar ram and intel cpu and motherboard more budget for gpu
Yeah
I got carried away getting a better quality psu and stuff lol
Yeah
All I need is high fps
So just put all the original cpu mobo ram case amd all that and make it a better gpu
You might want to consider a 750w (for some future proofing) modular psu with a higher efficiency rating too just as most bronze psus have lower end parts (not saying all but some may be more susceptible to failure)
So should I just stay with the 4060
This is a pc I will have for a bit it later I will build a fully new one so I don’t need to future proof
What was the other recommendations that they had?
Arc 750
Hm
Amd cpu more expensive ram more expensive mobo
Didn't mean to reply to that.
GPU? I feel like amd 6000/ low 7000 might have a price near what that is
And be higher performance than a 4060
Part List - Intel Core i3-12100F, GeForce RTX 4060, Montech X3 Mesh ATX Mid Tower
7600/ 7700 and look at the prices
1 sec
yeah intel seems like a better option at this budget
Cheap (Intel) - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6700
yeah
6700
yeah it's $100 less, but significantly worse than 4060
c tier on psu tier list
not modular though
No
AM4 is cheaper
Why not AM4
Crucial p3
QLC and no dram cache
P3 and p3 pluses are garbage
And no reason to use intel
I'd recommend just getting my build
I think I've heard of the company once, but if others have had good experience with it, it works
What's the price of the 7 3700 atm?
7 3700x has a larger cache, higher base clock, and lower TDP all with having twice the physical cores
Single core performance still goes to Intel but most games support multi threading
But its 1.5 to 2x the price but for twice the performance
If this is a rig only being used for a short time period, just buy used.
Budget?
You sure
what's the budget @thorny whale
$700
Faster than a 3600?
shit
lemme find the bench
Found it
What site are you using?
Yeah
And have you fixed the SSD yet?
yes
Same for the p3 pluses
fixed
Where's the case
What case?
That's what they choose originally
case is personal preference so I just didnt put it in
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
My take on this budget
best one by far
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Montech X3 Mesh ATX Mid Tower
Thanks 🙏
Am4 usually has cheaper motherboards
12100f Vs 3600 is a 4$ difference
whereas motherboards can have a 20$ difference
gpu > cpu as well
I recommend this build @pseudo edge
6700xt is very good for this price point
Fr
SSD should be fine
Patriot is better than its competitors at the price point I think
Case has molex fans
SSD is slow
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
SSD is literally fine
This is better
similar to others
It's gen 3
At the price
Gen 4 is less than $10 more
Gen 3 and gen 4 gaming speed difference is minimal
$7 for double the speed
Higher end gen 3 is better than low end gen 4
Yeah I know but still
That applies to the nv2
Not the sn770
oh ok
okay
a series mobo
Oh
I didn't see that earlier
Didn't see that
a series bad
Let me fix it
Most cases have the same cookie cutter base layer with added on stuff. In terms of everything, why nit choose some parts to be future proofed? Like the PSU & Case
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
Out of budget
Unless GPU is downgraded to something like a 6650xt
This build itself is already out of budget
Just trying to squeeze max performance for abt 30 extra
That board is trash
No
Not gonna have much upgradability
10$ extra will get a b550
No VRM heatsinks
Go for that
B550 pro4 >>>
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
750
a770 would be same as 4060
but then you can just get 6700
or 6700xt
might be better to get a rx 6700 or a 6650xt
to fit in budget
50 is too much
let me change the GPU
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Radeon RX 6700, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
11$ extra
I'd get this personally
🔺
And this would be better than the i3 and the 4060
Yes
Not sure
Let me check
I think the CPU a little weaker
Much better upgrade path though
GPU is 12% stronger
Ok
So like 8% faster with more upgradeability
They’re usually about $300
$320
And how much more performance/fps
Ok
Any other ways to cut down the price without losing fps
Like the ssd power supply ram mobo or sumthin
These are some of the best budget parts
nah
Could cut money on SSD and motherboard but youre going for quite lower quality stuff
You want to keep these parts if you can
What would I lose
Ok
Less future proof
Wdym by quality
More likely to encounter issues and stuff or bad temps
Don’t give a shit about future proofing cuz when I get my next build I’ll sell this one
And how much ssd speed and what quality
quality meaning the parts may degrade faster, or they perform quite worse loading time and speed wise. + Less future proof
Okay
If you really need to cut a buck
could go for a cheaper gen 3 ssd
motherboard could be cut by 5$
Actually nvm
I don't recommend it tho
Nah
It’s fine
The only thing that I would want to cut back price is cpu or gpu
But that would lower the fps
Np
I will probably get this in a month or two just need to save up a bit
Probably gonna be outdated by then
What will be outdated
Imma need this for a year
Until I get my next system
The cpu
Which will just be an upgrade for the GPU and CPU
5800x3d can handle a 4090 easy
Nah it will be a whole new pc with latest intel and nvidia stuff
New case, cooler all that stuff
Garbage
You mean latest AMD stuff
The 7800x3d is better than the 14900k for gaming
How much better in games would the 6700xt be than a 4060
I looked at benchmarks but they vary
I mostly care about fn but need good gpa in all games
20%
significant difference
How significant though cause that's an xtx vs a 4090
Currently not a big difference
That's the difference between the xtx and a 4090
In other words 90fps in cyberpunk and 108fps
Gotta be more important for weaker cards though
How much fps on mid settings on cod fn overwatch
I play fps games
More competitively
I don't know, can't answer that, it should be plenty
20% and up is significant imo
The difference between a 5800X3D and 7800X3D is also 20%
And that’s definitely significant
Part List - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Montech X3 Mesh ATX Mid Tower
This good?
👍
Case has molex fans, get an air 100, SSD is slow. Get a sn770
sn770 is same price and faster
Garbage that is always on unless you unplug or turn off
So the fan is always in unless the pc is off
Yes
Always at 100% too
They are dogshit
pwm fans are the best 👍
just get a better case
same price
if the max isnt much more, id recommend that
1 extra fan with a fan hub and rgb as a bonus
it's $1 more
oh wait
max
uhh
I think it's $10 more
Worth it then
Does it come with fans
Yeah they’re good
And the max has the good fans and rgb
Yes
Yes
