hard drive compatibility perhaps?

this specific laptop is also compatible adding a second drive

Might have a different storage technology (e.g. RAID). Try changing it in the bios and then reinstalling windows. If it still doesn't work, change it back to the settings that it was on before, and then see if swapping back to the 512gb works, and then use the 2tb as a secondary drive.

yea, a lil problem with adding a second drive is that i first need to fill out a form by MSI to get a bracket

#

Where can i change this?

#

probably where it says AHCI SATA or RAID

#

if that still doesn't work, then try fresh installing windows.

Yea ill first try to reinstall windows via cloud in the troubleshooting menu

#

Might be driver issues

# shy lodge Iso?

You download a 5GB file from microsoft's website, flash it onto a USB/Copy it onto a USB with Ventoy installed via another computer, press F12 while the pc that's not working is booting, Boot off the windows install USB/Boot into Ventoy and load the iso file there, and then install Windows on the new drive. All you need to worry about after installation is drivers. You can use programs like Snappy Driver Installer Origin to download the best drivers for your system.

Just a question. Whats the difference between this and installing the installation media directly onto the usb and booting it from the usb?

I see

Ill try when its done downloading via cloud and it still doesnt work. Anyway thanks for the information for now😁

# shy lodge I see

and you only need to flash ventoy once, and then you can store as many OS Install or recovery images as you want as long as theres enough storage space.

And after it's setup, Here are some tips for better performance and privacy (LESS CRASHES OR LAG). You should turn off the microsoft telemetry ("FILE EXPLORER SHOULD NOT TAKE TEN SECONDS TO LOAD" taken from this LTT video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwkiU6GG-YU) with O&OShutup10 and by editing the hosts file like in this video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJr2DcffquI (lookup a guide to O&OShutup10), and you can free some memory by going to Settings/Privacy/Background Apps and turning that off. , and Going to settings/system in any non-Firefox (Browsers like Edge, and Chrome) browser and turn off Continue runnning background apps when (Browser) is closed.
