#looking for a pc setup

1440p is the best resolution
4K is unnecessary and 1080p can have reduced visual quality.
Not literally*
1080p is fine for me
In fact as I'm a Fortnite player
comp
I play on 1720x1080
even though my pc can run stable 1080p 160
country @rocky pelican ?
?
8K is technically the best

Visual fidelity is unaffected by going from 4K to 8k
(At the proper viewing distance)
ok
2k euro
begins
Video editor
ok
Let me try
Part List - Intel Core i7-13700K, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
oh
2500
let me try
this is perfect actually
2500
You might want 64GB of ram
Yeah
Ddr5 doesnโt do well with 4 sticks
Especially with the 7200 on that list
Intel might get 6000 cl30 with 4 sticks if you buy 6000 ram but Iโm not sure
Let me try
Part List - Intel Core i9-14900K, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Part List - Intel Core i9-14900K, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Shouldnt be too bad with a light undervolt
but I did add a 360mm aio
I don't know what the best one is
with the best performance
7950x >>>
I just know that deepcool is a good brand
More like a stock voltage instead of overvolted
As an intel fanboy I disagree
with that 14900k there isn't a single thing he can't do
Same with the 7950x
Iโd want to say that too, but idk how they compare for video editing
I think the 14900k is better
same amount of threads
but you have Intels e cores
albeit I don't know the improvement they make
I'd go the intel build
I couldn't fit a 4080
Somehow
Its a hot CPU
probably the hottest CPU that consumers buy
But the 360mm aio will keep temps safer
try air cool a 14900k I don't even wanna know what will happen
I changed it to 64gb ram
I think 2 slots is more stable
Than 4 slots
Intels current desktop cpus are at 10nm, while AMD is on 5nm. In order for them to compete, they have to be overlocked basically to the limit, increasing power and heat
Ye
Try ask around and get a case with better airflow
that psu is sufficient for a 14900k
Same with mobo
Cooler could maybe be improved
But afaik the one I chose is good
Get some good thermal paste with some of the money left
like 12 euro
Way more stable
Thought so
7200mhz is pointless
np
Its not completely pointless
But good luck running it stable
especially if you use 4 slots in future
I would recommend amd bc am5 is new and will have infinitely longer support than lga 1700 (lga 1700 is on the last cpu generation, 14th gen)
I don't think anyone
Is upgrading from 14900k
anytime soon
tbh
Personally I would upgrade it in around 2040 ๐
Let me make an am5 build
Should be a bit cheaper
slightly less performance
But better power usage, thermals and future proof
Mate itโd be so outdated
Ye it'd prob get beat by a R5 15600x
Or whatever it would be called then
Actually
That sounds stupid
Only 1-2 generations more and a Ryzen 5 would beat it
at least in gaming
Probs just in your head
but if I was you
it would be a long long time
If am5 is like am4, you could conceivably upgrade to the 11950x with just a bios update
What makes you think it works less well together
Itโs in your head
Anyway, mystic should be making one. Iโm on mobile so itโs harder to make a list
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Same
Quite a lot of budget left
Could make it look better aesthetically if needed
The 7950x doesn't need an aio
afaik
let me try
max 2.5
Whatโre you gonna be using to edit
It's difficult
Only for gaming is it good. Video editing would suffer quite a bit
Wtf
I can't find white ram
That's stable
And 64gb
6000mhz/cl30
and it's actually available with some reviews and ratings
^
Donโt send too many messages at once or youโll get muted
@pallid schooner you reckon 6000mhz cl 36 4 slots would run stable
He means software I think
premiere pro?
On ryzen? No
Damn ok
Itโs the speed, not the latency
Out of the box, itll be 3600
4 slots
4000 is a stretch
damn
So yeah
32gb should be enough tbh
2 sticks on ryzen unless you need more than 96GB of ram
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Heavily priortising aesthetics
The only performance sacrifice I made was less ram
This has around 200-300 euros head room
To change some components if you want
They also come with a nice little white taz
tax*
Idk if Iโm missing something, or if the peerless assassin wouldnโt cool the 7950x, but hereโs my input. That psu has the native 12vhpwr which is ๐๐๐

Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
If you want white components
4070 ti is better than the 4070 super is why I chose the ti
montech case for a 2.5k build Id go for something possibly higher quality
and I added a boot drive
separate from files
4070 ti super
It is high quality
I think that cooler is sufficient
I just went aio cause he could afford it
and better temps = better
I don't think it'll fit
Actually it might
I don't think I saw one tho
I mean in the budget
let me try
I would still go intel
if I'm honest ๐
I just don't like amd
no reason
This isnโt in Netherlands but:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4VLkRK
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
same
but it's your choice
Ryzen will save some power + temps will be better and better upgradeability
This is what I'd reccomend but let me tweak a bit
You could also not get an x670e
Nl prices a bit weird btw
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Bjbvvj this is just
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, Fractal Design Pop Air RGB ATX Mid Tower
360mm aio is enough to cool it
No neweeg in nl
this list won't work
Shipping from USA costs are mad
A 7600xt from neweeg in the UK costs ยฃ55 to ship
Gg
do you have a case preference?
i would recommend intel but amd has so much going for it
yes i do
lol
jokes do not translate well in messages
cheap aio, cheapest ram, decent drives. i separated boot and files/games/videos into separate drives. if you dont want that its fine
https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/list/ypWZjH
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
any that you have in mind?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Are our lists the exact same price
๐
youd need to add fans
oh ye
This one is better the
well
actually, with the 360mm aio needing to go in the front, itd probably be fine with the stock fan at the back and the 3 from the aio
you need to copy the link within the website
kraken is so expensive
also, i specifically chose my psu because it has the 12vhpwr connector on it which, imo, should be required for any gpu that has it
Part List - Intel Core i9-14900K, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
should get an atx3.0 one imo
Part List - Intel Core i9-14900K, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
If you want intel
14th gen will probably need a bios update to work
go that
Ye
Or if you want amd
This one I think
and without bios flashback, youre basically boned unless you buy a 13th gen too
yes
Yes it does
Ye
So you should be fine
Imo id go for 14900k
Just cause of the extra performance
get an atx 3.0 psu
the rm1000e has dual eps to 12vhpwr i think
Part List - Intel Core i9-14900K, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
Intel Build
Not sure about which amd one
I would ask @pallid schooner
Np
Let's design a dual CPU motherboard that can run 2 different platforms
Go AMD
best of both worlds
nuh uh
๐
Proof
14900k>7950x
So we aren't talking about gaming
Thought I did
and gaming
so 14900k is better
both cpus deliver less than 7800x3d
And the fact that this budget allows for the 14900k to be cooled quite well
ish
youd need to lower voltage (which would lower performance)
Should be fine stock
depends on the motherboard
not helping with that
i dont know near enough
I know just enough
let me see
tbf
it's quite unnecessary
unless you want crazy low temps
i dont know how different boards do. i think asus overvolts way more agressively
which is unrealistic for a 14900k
personally a solid 360mm aio should be fine
and nice thermal paste + good case and motherboard
Your choice here tbh
Amd has some reasonable upsides
But intel delivers more raw performance in this aspect
(from what I understand)
ignoring other amd chips
Like threadrippers
@pallid schooner you know any?
Ain't too bad
thermalgrizzly kryonaut, but its expensive
I forgot the name of the game that was using 64 cores
cities skylines 2
Ye that the one
yeah
But that was with like a million population
a 96 core threadripper pro at 5.6GHz was getting 2/3 of its cores utilized
Don't know
Haven't actually built a pc for years
good for around 2 pastes
Dot
on intel its a line because of the rectangular heat spreader
on amd its a pea sized blob
Be a sigma and go intel
sigmas don't fear literal heaters
Solid build
could add some fans
if needed
id recommend against the h9 flow, but if you really like the aesthetics, then go for it
the price. montech air 903 max is under $100
but i get it if you dont like the look of the 903 max
nah its all good
your choice
anyway, if thats what you want, go for it
yw
if you have any more questions, dont hesitate to ask
good luck bro
