#rtx 4070 super vs rx7800xt
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I have same dilemma here if I play at 1080p would that 4gb vram make a difference later
12GB is more than adequate for 1080p now and a couple years into the future
Thanks so out of the two at 1080p you would 100% pick 4070 Supra
i would personally rather have the 4070 super
it's around 13% faster than the 7800xt while pulling 40W less
do you usually play brand new AAA games?
if so then you might want the vram, but if not you probably wont use it
im watching someone play baldurs gate 3 on a regular vanilla 4070 at 1440p with ultra settings and hes getting around 6GB of vram usage
i think you will be running out of gpu core performance before you're running out of vram in the future, but the 7800xt is $100 cheaper
if you want to save some money then it's not a bad deal
12 GB is more than enough. You really only need 8GB of Vram for 1440p. All the rumor about Vram being less on Nvidia cards is so pointless. There is no poor Vram kapacity only poorly optimized games. (For example the last of us)
I also would choose the 4070S just because of Nvidia features , mainly DLSS 3.5 and FrameGen.
Best example of this Vram Thing is the 6700XT vs RTX 3070. The 3070 completely destroys the 6700XT despite having less Vram. Its not the Vram to worry about here man
Great choice, have fun with it.
Yeah im also still using the good old 1080
Nice build, I build a PC with a 3070 and a 11700k in a bequiet case. It also was very nice.
I like your CPU choice and the case.
I dont know, I always order from Mindfactory.
If you think about a custom Design for the 4070S, the AORUS Master by Gigabyte is very nice, its basically a less expensive ROG Strix
Oh jeez they made that way more expensive. When I bought the 3070 in that custom Design it was even cheaper than the FE. Well things change.
Nah get the FE for like 10 EUR more.
Its not avaiable at the Moment but its a New Nvidia card.
That always happens.
Maybe its in your country but I dought it.
I moved to Germany
Just go for a Design you like. Maybe the looks. Or watch some Tests because some CuDs are higher clocked than others.
For example the ROG Strix and the Aorus Master are that way, because they promote overclocking.
Then order Based on Personal oppinion. Maybe you know the Brand to be reliable and make great products. For example for me its bequiet, Asus and Gigabyte
That one for example
If you want overclocking you could but then you could also get a 3 Fan version
The Eagle OC by Gigabyte for example
Its 699 EUR wich is about 8k Swedish Kr
The gaming OC also by Gihabyte is a bit more expensive but its also good.
7800 imo
More vram, cheaper, equivalent performance
Source?
Fair enough lol
Still within 10% of each other though
Bruh
Its just so funny how many people think that Vram is that important
Thats the funny part
12 GB is enough. It just has less than AMD card. The Last of us really traumatised everyone
You might have noticed that there’s a new angry mob out there. They’ve gathered up all their best pitchforks and torches gone to war against GPUs without, in their opinion, enough VRAM. It feels like just yesterday we were all totally happy with 4gb GPUs. And then for like 2 days 8gb was the minimum, and now the mob is DEMANDING that GPUs with 8...
Theres a pretty good explanation in this one
7900xt va 4070 super??
7900xt wins
7800 imo, but 4070 super if you can spare the money
if it was ur money for strictly 1080p highest fps possible would the 200dollars extra be worth it in your opinion
7900 x 7800
with 7800x3d
If it was my money I’d get the 7800xt then use the extra $200 for a 1440p 144hz+ IPS monitor
what if i already have that? which one would be it?
If you already had a 1440p monitor, I’d downgrade to a 7600 and then get a 7900xtx
ok thanks
at 1080 p will there be any difference in frames at low settings because of cpu bottleneck even with 7800x3d
at 1440p you'll probably be fine with the 12gb vram. at 4k definitely 7800xt.
