I have a Dell g3 15 3500 laptop with a gen 3 x4 pcie slot in it I have a gen 3 x4 ssd installed in it but it's running at x1 speed (~900mbps). There are no options available to toggle in bios.
And the CPU is i7 10750h is overheating to almost 104°c even when watching YouTube.
Thermal paste application is done ✅.
Mounting pressure checked ✅.
Bios updated ✅.
The service center told me to replace the whole laptop motherboard without even opening it. Please help me....
#laptop SSD running super slow and overheating CPU

For now I would just underclock the CPU if you're motherboard supports it.
No there is no support for it
Can you change the fan curve in the bios to have the fans spin up sooner?
No fan control in bios and dells fan control software does not changes anything after adjusting the fan curve. Other softwares like fan control can not even detect the fans
But the fans spin at 100 to 80 percent all the time as soon as the charger is connected
I think I have made a big mistake buying this laptop that was super costly around 84k INR
Growing up my dad had a Dell latitude E6530 Laptop that had the same problem you are having were it would constantly overheat, to make it even worse it was doing intensive cpu workloads for days on end. The laptop had either a 1st or 2nd gen core i7, 8 gigabytes of RAM some crappy intel graphics chip and a 128 gigabyte intel SSD, apart from the intel integrated graphics chip it was a pretty high end system for around 2013. He tried to configure it so that the fans would spin up faster but the bios didn't support it and like you said software like fanspeed didn't detect any fans. He ended up getting a laptop cooler and that actually helped it a lot so if you have no other option I would try to see if you can get a laptop cooler https://www.amazon.com/Cooling-15-6-17-Portable-Powered-Function/dp/B082SSJY2C/ref=sr_1_4?c=ts&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.7oS12olCX1lNLEX2L3Uyd1HVINDDKLLM9l_6CD6fwZG6U1JoFxA-5hLqROARMSUqjqLl3x5uibWGsRDsosuFnp2M4rE0VIK2fdQIL2alVEi8LMYxJmebUk6mCxkqzq4Oe8-yOhRa0p84aNJa34bX3A.J-18Y2Sail3mjfrSpGZjWv90sr4rZ2QkuFRRYKdV2_o&dib_tag=se&keywords=Laptop%2BCooling%2BPads%2B%26%2BExternal%2BFans&qid=1705225697&s=pc&sr=1-4&ts_id=2243862011&th=1 I still have my dad's old dell latitude.
I just looked up you're laptop online this sucks that you're having issues with such a nice laptop.
I have used a core 2 duo before this for many years till 2018 with 2 gb DDR2 ram and a super slow 512 gb hdd wd green. I used to play music on it , it could barely play Spotify. I learned coding on that my dream was to play GTA San Andreas on it then. That's when my mother gave this laptop as a gift to me but it never ran well. I could barely open any game from the first day on it.
My first ever computer I ever owned personally and not just me borrowing my dads laptop was some hp from 2008 that got passed down to me from my grandpa. The machine had if I can remember right a Pentium 4 it also had 2 gigabytes of DDR2 memory a 7300 LE Graphics Card and Windows 7 but I downgraded it to Windows XP because it ran faster and used it until about the beginning of 2018 when me and my dad started to build a new system for me witch I still use and in fact i'm using it right now to talk to you on discord.
I have build a pc recently using i5 12400f and 6750xt that is my main pc I have build using the money I have earned from building pcs for others. Now I am I college 1st year I need my laptop for study and It gave up like that.
I have learned building a pc watching Linus for almost 7 years now
My current system has a AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950x a MSI RTX 2080 super an MSI 399x SLI Plus Motherboard 32 Gigabytes of DDR4 memory some corsair AIO cooler 850w evga power supply and a Corsair 7000D Airflow Case, I built it into the corsair case later.
And I mostly use Linux
wow I have daily driven fedora for almost 6 months but after that I started using WSL. I have been looking for an old system to use it as a proxmox hypervisor. Then I can tweak it how I want and perform many experiments like NAS, Virtual machines, Plex server, Minecraft server.
This one
Yes, I have been looking at servers too my dad has one but I would like to have a personal server of my own, I've been looking at old Sparc servers from Sun Microsystems but I decided against it because those servers are very loud.
I did use Fedora for awhile and I quite like it.
Windows is good to.
i had a server(old pc ) i collected from an old office bin. that had i3 540 and 8 gb ddr3 ram . I cleaned it and it worked. I have used it as a trunas box for storing my sisters picture albums * she loves doing photography.
My first computer the hand-me-down hp that I got from my grandpa for a little while after I got me current Computer it was a Minecraft server at least until we got rid of it.
Anyway it is literately 4am for me right now I'm going to head off to bed, It was nice talking to you! Try that laptop cooler to see if it helps.
ok bye
