i plan on spending around 5k ish on a build
price to performance is out the window so im just looking for best and best looking parts
im fairly new to the whole pc building world
my personal preference is Intel and Nvidia
4090 basically solidified to be the gpu
id prefer Intel but not fully against AMD im just more familier with Intel
im gonna have a buddy of mine help me build it since he build his and his husbands pc
im new to this please be civil
#Hey i just wanted some help on a pretty insane build for the future

Part List - Intel Core i9-14900KF, GeForce RTX 4090, NZXT H9 Flow ATX Mid Tower
this is a build i threw together and yes i saw expensive shiny good and said want
You should wait for LGA1851 imo.
I wouldn’t, it’s either coming out Q3 or Q4, or maybe 2025
imo i would get a 13900KS
I’d get a 7950x since AM5 should last a little longer
My only issue with amd is that it seems to be mediocre for the price
Don’t bother planning for the future
Like comparing intel vs amd on userbenchmark and some other websites intel won price to performance by a mile
Userbenchmark is awful
Worst site in the PC community, followed by bottleneck calculators
Pretty much all misinformation

Techspot, kitguru, techpowerup- these are all fine for CPU and GPU benches
But back to this
Come back when you’re going to purchase
Planning early leads nowhere
I mean it will take a good bit for pc stuff to come out
And I'm not too interested in what intel and amd have next year
Since it will likely be a small upgrade at best
Well yes bit planning never hurts especially since we are in limbo for new pc stuff
I'm just asking for tips more
I'm probably going to go for the highest intel I can since I don't know much about amd
What’s the pc for?
Gaming and personal projects like writing and editing
And likely streaming
And for the obvious use of watching TV and talking to others
A 7800x3d is pretty much your only reasonable option then
Potentially a 7950x3d, but the ccd is annoying
Fastest gaming cpu in the world
I'd likely go the higher option since my personal budget is very high
what, the 7800x3d and the 7950x3d?
The 7950x3d can win in some games like Rust, a 7800x3d wins majority average anyways
Fair
I'm not really a rust player so I'm fine with that
And rn I don't play many high graphics games but it's just cause my kinda potato pc will never be able to play cyberdark
Punk*
Oh yeah sorry, fucking misinformation. I've seen 3 websites and well over 100 vids that said they were coming out in January. Sorry.
If it’s releasing this month, why not announce it at the biggest fucking tech event of the year which just so happens to be also in January?!?
Same mistake i made. Search up toms hardware gpu/cpu chart
The 7950X3D wins by a little bit on average. Some games cant handle the ccd affinity as good as others, but those are getting fewer, by every update.
I'm an intel fanboy personally I'd go for 13900ks if you looking into editing aswell
Toms cpu chart kinda sucks
They only run jedec kits
Out of curiosity, why’s that?
Why is what?
Why can some games handle the 7950x3d’s CCD better than others- should’ve specified sorry
Down to how well the scheduler works with the game. Game Engine and Scheduler need to work together to load each core and ccd with certain tasks. Also to prevent shifting from one ccd to the other via the IF
But in most cases, the extra cores help with running the OS and the slightly higher boost clocks help with gaming performance. Be it by just a margin.
I got the 7950X3D for gaming and Streaming while gaming, so that the non X3D CCD can handle the utility programs
Must run a dream
