#VGA & m.2 Failure Boot
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Have you tried using a clean m.2 and installing windows on that? It'd be best to have a clean install and just copy files you need.
No I haven’t. I can try that first tomorrow. I just don’t understand why I’m not getting any picture from the GPU. Could it be related?
I'm not sure to be honest
Does the gpu work in another pc?
It worked before the upgrade
Try another pcie slot it could be a bad slot
Okay
Please try resetting the CMOS on the motherboard
This used to happen on Dell computers and they had to have the flea power drained, CMOS reset, and THEN they would work on the Display port. Otherwise they'd only work on VGA and HDMI.
This worked!
But… as I’m in windows it says my graphics card isn’t detected. I checked drivers and task manager.
No pins on the GPU or in the slot are broken
The fans also do spin
Did you check device manager?
it should show up as a connected device even if it doesn't have drivers
It’s not on there
strange
The fans do spin
I’ve made sure it is properly seated in the slot. No pins are broken. The power is secure. The fans do spin.
It is not in the device managed and I have made sure no previous GPU drivers are instilled. I have also reset the CMOS battery.
I'm not sure what's going on, but it seems like your computer refuses to recognize the graphics card for some reason
