#fortnite performs worse after gpu upgrade
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I have a 1660 sup and only get 120-180
it should be a lot faster
do u ave drivers up to date
yep
try another game that u remember the fps in
fortnite is the only thing i remember
would it help to know that my cpu is an i5 2500k
cpu runs around 60% range and the gpu sometimes goes to 100 and then drops to 30 and then 0
overclocking the gpu in the software slightly makes it faster
ok that shouldnt happen at all
what could the issue be then?
honestly ive never seen that
when were you most recently getting the 200fps?
i run performance mode
not on max settings but it’s good quality
i upgraded the gpu yesterday so the day before i was getting good fps with no spikes
i wonder if it’s because the cpu is old so it can’t keep up with something new
i do plan on upgrading to a ryzen 5 3600 tho
what’s this switch on the graphics card?
wdym
there’s a dual bios switch
it’s a power color red dragon rx 570
lol that didn’t do anything when i flicked it to the right
i think i fixed my problem with the fps spikes
i heavily recommend buying a new cpu but only get one that is worth the upgrade
i wouldnt get a 3600 i'd get a 5600 best value cpu on the market
b550 motherboards are fairly cheap too
Yeah that cpu is definitely getting long in the tooth
it's possible that driver overhead is affecting performance, especially since you switched from one vendor to another
Also couldn't hurt to try DDU to make sure the old drivers are uninstalled
dam i got the same problem i uprgraded frm a 1080 to a 2060 and i feel no difference
alr
and then eventually i’ll pair the 5600 with a 3060 or a 6650 xt
i did that as well
does monitor intervene with bottleneck too
There's always potentially the chance, but I can't imagine it would
i have a 1650x1000 and it’s 60hz but i plan on getting a new monitor
so
