A few weeks ago i started getting random BSOD

first i check temps, finding them to be higher than normal, i removed the cooler, found dry paste, i replaced the thermal paste on both CPU AND GPU

still happens

i run OCCT stress test, found issue with unstable OC as well as update the bios to latest version, reverted OC to default (auto), no more error on occt after 10 hrs

still more BSOD coming

runs HD tune on all drives, found a damaged SSD with a lot of bad sectors, removed it and sent it back for warranty

now thinking thats all the cause, and worried all those BSOD might have corrupted windows files, reinstalled windows

now on fresh windows install, i havent install softwares that i usually use, it BSOD again with 0x8000400000000002 error, im so lost

did you update gpu drivers?

#

also how did you install new windows? via windows reset function or via usb stick

If the pc worked fine before then I would try getting those older drivers and older windows build.

friend told me to lower memory frequency, so far i havent get the BSOD but then its very random so im still testing it

#

memtest 86 shows everything being fine but my friend said theres a chance of instability on the ram causing corrupted 64k block

did you run the memtest on the old frequency? xmp/expo

well since you haven't had those crashes since lowering mem frequency then wait and see if it keeps happening again. I personally would try looking into updated software-windows/drivers.

ill give it a test if problems didnt go away, this is very frustrating the fact that i cant exactly replicate it to see if its fixed, its very intermittent, sometimes its fine for a few days sometimes i can get bsod 4 times a day

#

but thanks for the suggestions, will keep that in mind

When I had issues like that I did have a bad ram. It did get caught by memtest86 tho.

64gigs is kinda pointless unless you process large data

#

also no upgrade path for ddr4. dont do it.

i did ran into issue with low memory from time to time, especially when i have virtualbox running

#

in the future when i upgrade, this old system will be used as a server

oh sure. if you do VMs then yea you can make use of it.
