do you have a second psu to test with? could be defective
i was thinking that but the only psu i have is my brothers and id have to dissasemble his whole pc to try it out
he prolly wont let me
i can try but itll have to be way later
what's the name of your power supply?
because I'm not too familiar with building PCs, but in this photo this cable says PCI-E on it, but isn't that slot for the CPU cable? I'm not sure if that's the right one. Just wondering if there are any other cables that fit in that place.
Ya so I was watching this video: https://youtu.be/bZNbfgr0Y8w?si=j-Ad5M0AH0vKiTj2, and at 5:58, he talks about how 8 pin PCI-E power cables look a lot like 8 pin CPU EPS cables. Apparently those connectors are made in such a way that you can't put one into the slot of another, but I'm sure you could force it on if you tried. In the picture of yours that I sent, that slot is for the CPU EPS cable. So check that out. Like if there's another PSU cable that fits that slot. Because you might have the PCI-E power cable on there.
Power supply cables can be confusing for beginners. Let's explain what each does and where each goes!

Something seems to be triggering OCP. I’m not sure what psu you have but that usually means there is a short or an incompatible connection
This could be caused by many factors
Did you power the system on while it was on a table?
bro im dumb this was the issue 🤦🏾♂️
idk how i didnt notice this i even said pcie in the vid
thank you bro im gonna put the whole thing together and see if it runs cause i took it apart cause i was having a usb header issue in the first place
Cool tell me if it works
pc is working but i am having a gpu issue
i have a 3060 and fans are spinning and when i plug in the power cable leds turn on but it displays no video
i plugged my hdmi cable into the mobo and it worked but my gpu wasnt showing up in task manager, just the integrated graphics
i tried my brothers 1050ti and it worked
so its either my gpu is having issues or i have an issue with the pcie cable
and my psu isnt modular so 😭
any way you can try using your gpu on his computer? I feel like the GPU is probably fine. Does the pcie connector look damaged? It's possible to fix that manually if so. But maybe you can just smash it into shape.
i trie his gpu in his pc with his pcie connector with no luck
anything else i can try?
